@baseballinpix Brooks was my hero growing up because of what he did in MLB. AL MVP, 16 Gold Gloves, ASG MVP, WS MVP, 1st ballot HofF. He’s still my hero, because he’s a better man than he was a baseball player. It was cool to hang out with him twice because he treated you like an old friend

Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson was born this day in 1937 in Little Rock, AR. What are your thoughts and memories of "The Human Vacuum Cleaner"?

Brooks Robinson was born today in 1937. He was my hero growing up for what he did on the baseball field (AL MVP, 16 Gold Gloves, All Star Game MVP, World Series MVP, 1st ballot Hall of Famer) He is my hero as a grown up for being an even better man than he was a baseball player.

@Super70sSports The big guy, #26. He should have had a statue at Camden Yards & his number retired years ago. Mr Powell is still one of my favorite players on my beloved Orioles. I had the chance to have a few beers & chat with him…such a nice guy & told some funny stories

@3BluesFan @7thGypsy 9 yr old me had a bunch of these…they were included in the 5 cent pack of baseball cards I bought with my allowance in 1968. The bubble gum stick that was included tasted like cardboard but we didn’t know any better.

RIP Mr Turner….this lifelong Orioles fan is grateful for being able to watch MLB every night on cable in the late 1970s thanks to you before my home town got HTS on cable. TCM is still a go to channel for me because I love classic movies
MD Dorfman@Bombersfan1

RIP Ted. We will miss you for so many reasons. When I first moved to ATL TBS was the most creative and popular TV network available. Then CNN was started. Owning the Braves. Then the Hawks. The Goodwill Games. Developing ATL into one of our greatest cities. Much more Thank you!

I see people beating up on the #Orioles broadcasters for being homers; for putting lipstick on a pig. I don't blame them. They are professionals doing their best to find a silver lining to somehow keep you engaged. You do you @masnOrioles. But let's be real, the team is seriously flawed and have zero hope in their Hunt for Orange October. The O's (in no particular order): 1. Lack fundamentals 2. Are completely out of touch with situational baseball -- a foreign concept in their Twilight Zone of analytics. 3. Employ a manager and his slackies who are no more than puppets to said analytics. 4. Are awful defensively, particularly in the outfield 5. Have a highly flawed roster that is overly dependent on home runs. 6. Field a pitching staff that is no better than last season, arguably worse, and the pitching coach is as clueless a blind tour guide. 7. Are plagued by Injuries year after year calling into question their strength and conditioning program. 8. Have a GM/President who is accountable to no one and has structured an organization completely dependent upon his warped concept of money-ball. Who's going to stop the madness? An owner who is a back up Mr. Splash? This is year 8 for Elias. His teams have yet to win a playoff game. In 2023 the Orioles had a .623 winning %. In '24, .562; in '25, .463; in '26 so far, .455. High-end draft picks have been regularly wasted. Elias said the Orioles were "on top of the sport in almost every facet", after beating the Yankees On June 20, 2024, 17-5 in the Bronx. (Thanks @jcalvinmeyer) The O's were 49-25 following that win after going 101-61 the year before. The organization also had a top-ranked farm system. Since that win, the Orioles went 42-46 to finish the 2024 campaign, 75-87 last season, and are now 15-20 this year after 4 straight losses to the Yankees. In total, that's a 132-153 record, a .463 winning percentage. But don't worry. OPACY has enjoyed $600M in improvements largely aimed at the corporate dollar and not the fans who are incredibly loyal to a highly flawed and borderline incompetent organization. I suppose the good news is that it can't get any worse, can it?

This 60 + year Orioles fan channels Rex Barney when I say Thannkk Yooouuu! to Mike Bordick @MBordick for speaking truth to analytics nerds. Hopefully somebody in ownership will pay attention & make the changes in the Warehouse that are overdue.
Glenn Clark@GlennClarkRadio

Orioles Hall of Famer @MBordick joined us this morning and divulged into an EPIC rant about Gunnar Henderson, the Orioles current struggles and their organizational approach to the game: “I’m just really frustrated.” #Birdland

@Pensblog Last time I looked, Sidney Crosby has 3 Stanley Cups. That's more than the Flyers have won in the history of their franchise.
