@CaptainArinze Why would you collect the food without transfering the money at once? I don't understand why Nigerians do this. After someone renders a service, don't tell them you'll transfer later. It's wrong. He should receive his money immediately he hands the food over. IMMEDIATELY.

Yesterday, I ordered food from one of my favorite restaurants in PH. I was at the gym when the delivery guy arrived. I collected the food and told him I’d transfer the 2k Naira delivery fee later. About 45 minutes later, when I finished at the gym, I saw 5 missed calls from him. When I called back, he said he was just wondering why I hadn't sent the 2k yet. I didn't know whether to be shocked or annoyed. But a few things stood out to me: 1. He trusted me. He left without collecting his money. In a country where trust is low, especially between strangers, that was something. 2. That 2k really mattered to him. He was willing to keep calling until he got it. 3. I shouldn't have delayed his payment. It may have seemed like a small amount to me, but he earned it and deserved to be paid immediately. 4. Nigeria is hard. Forget all the flashy stuff you see on Twitter. People are really hustling to survive.

@CaptainArinze Your analysis is beautiful but it was a bit insensitive to have delayed his payment knowingly. I used knowingly because you stopped your workout to receive the order. You could have stopped other activities to ensure the payment was made immediately.
