Fortifications remain one of the most important battlefield shaping tool.
Russians are slowly getting through AFU defensive lines, only to meet another layer.
Very little progress been recently made and lots of resources spend just to retain those gains behind the lines.

@Phoenix4517 @jakonian If someone is suspected of planning a terrorist attack and they are arrested, I am sure the police can find evidence to support their allegation within 4 days. Though really they ought to have evidence *before* arresting someone, unless it's absolutely unavoidable.

Sure I could maybe understand reducing it a bit, maybe 10 days, but down to 4 seems a little bit stupid and potentially dangerous.

@Phoenix4517 @jakonian I did not say that you can held for 14 days specifically for refusing to give the police the passcode to your phone, although that is a "terrorist" offence, which is ridiculous and shows the government can't be trusted with the power to detain people without charge for 14 days.

@jakonian 4 days brings it in line with murder. 14 days is excessive. People are innocent until proven guilty and should be given proper due process rights. Britain is a country where refusing to give the police the passcode to your phone can see you convicted of "terrorism". Orwellian.

@caredscared_ @iamyomas No they use horses because they can get around traffic and for crowd control as a 1000 pounds of horse is very useful as for dogs again no they use them for all sorts from finding drugs to as attack dogs

@iamyomas in some european countries they do and it's a tactic to try to prevent ppl from attacking cops bc that could injure animals and they will use that for sympathy (also part of the reason they use dogs).

@spectating5zsn @jakonian Norway's wealth tax has its own massive issues as for CGT equalisation the point is it's not just as simple as equalising as you for starters get the issue of taxing inflation and not just gains if you just equalise and call it a day

@Phoenix4517 @jakonian Of course it has problems, every tax does. I would argue CGT equalisation is needed because labour income is taxed higher than other income which disincentives work. Re wealth tax and distribution, I disagree, Norway’s a good example of perceived distributional fairness improving

@Phoenix4517 @jakonian To be fair he has made it clear in interviews this isn’t for revenue generation, more for distributional fairness. The main revenue generating proposal would be equalising Capital Gains Tax rates with Income Tax (similar to corbyn’s manifestos)

only way i can see the concert work out is if they make it some kind of play/musical. hire actors to act out bits of the movie, have them lip-sync so it won’t confuse the kids, and for the songs have the singing va’s share the stage with dancers in full cosplay

i want to buy into this so bad but i’m afraid irish guys literally do just age like this. i’m the same age as paul and so many of the lads i went to school with are now either fully grey or just bald as fuck. you’d put them closer to their 40s than their 20s.
