Many chemicals can be sustainably synthesised by microorganisms such as cyanobacteria and microalgae. A new dissertation highlights the versatility of photosynthetic microorganisms for applications in different solid-state chemical production systems. utu.fi/en/news/events…

Microalgae can grow in greenhouse drain water. We're testing this concept also in Finland under the climatic and light conditions of Northern Europe. We installed a fully operational facility to validate the REALM concept at pilot scale: 1 m3. #BlueBioeconomy

Meet Pulmu, who is a co-supervised PhD student in the Photo-e-mat project founded by @SuomenAkatemia . She mainly works in the @McrgUtu to study #sustainable anode materials for #biophotovoltaic applications. With us, she's learning more about #photosynthesis and #cyanobacteria.
