Under new wedding proposals, a bride could be married without saying one word, in the secrecy of a private home, on an officiant's judgement of what her silence meant - and the Government wants to write that into the marriage law of England and Wales. familyeducationtrust.org.uk/media/latest-n…

Part of the interior of Taversoe Tuick Chambered Cairn on Rousay - one of the Orkney islands. The cairn dates to the Neolithic, and is a wonderful example of a two-storey cairn with chambers on top of each other. 📸 My own. #TombTuesday #Rousay #Prehistory #Archaeology #Orkney

Around 4,000 years ago in Bactria, a winged goddess was carved into polished dark stone, surrounded by tulips or poppies. Zigzags and waves evoking mountains and rivers decorate this Bronze Age vessel from the mysterious Oxus Civilization. Louvre Museum.

The beautiful and atmospheric interior of the Church of St. Nicholas, Swineshead, Bedfordshire- one of my favourites 🤩 It dates mainly from the 14th and 15th centuries and has lots of interesting architectural details, faint traces of a wall painting and some excellent pews 🥰
