@Jbotsx @All_Might93 @pbzero_official It seems like you are thinking like a human that has no true vision, skill, or intention. Like "let the robotic exoskeleton move, control the ball, and shoot all the 3 pointers so I can focus on getting praised for being a good basketball player"

@All_Might93 @pbzero_official I am thinking like a human. AI is a tool that can speed up tedious processes and save humans actual time and labor. Have the robots do the work so that we humans can focus on the creation.

Phantom Blade Zero
Phantom Blade Zero@pbzero_official·
Phantom Blade Zero is currently in the intense, final stages of development. With the time we have left, we are pouring every available resource into pushing every aspect of the game to the absolute limit of our capabilities. We are fully aware that a profound technological revolution is unfolding around us. However, to this day, every single piece of content in our game has been crafted by the hands of real artists. We will not use AI visual tech that could alter our artists' original creative intent. Our character models are built upon 3D scans of our phenomenal cast, who also provided the facial capture performances. The voice acting in both Chinese and English has been meticulously refined by our dedicated actors and directors, complete with full lip-syncing for both languages. The prototypes for our weapons are drawn from the vast arsenal of traditional Chinese weaponry. Sometimes, to better understand how a weapon's weight and length impact movement, we have master swordsmiths forge real replicas. Our combat is motion-captured by over twenty highly experienced martial artists. To capture the most authentic kung fu techniques, we consult directly with the masters and inheritors of traditional martial arts schools. When we needed authentic swordplay, we invited sword masters from Mount Emei; when we needed lion dance choreography, we brought in lion dance masters from Guangdong. Of course, we also visited many stunning locations across China, from ancestral halls in Fujian to ancient towns in Zhejiang, and even old steel factories in Beijing. We scanned these places and reimagined them in unexpected combinations to build something truly original: the visual identity we created and defined as Kungfupunk. The game also features a series of guiding maps. These are not AI-generated, nor are they digital paintings at all. They were hand-drawn using Chinese brushes and Xuan paper (rice paper) by young artists from the Chinese Painting department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). We firmly believe that human artistry is not merely a means for creating value; it is the value itself. S-GAME didn't just hire a group of developers to make a game; rather, in our pursuit of continuously building an exceptional, passionate team, we decided to make a game that everyone here could be deeply proud of. We can't wait for you all to experience that difference in Phantom Blade Zero in just a few months. Thank you! Soulframe S-GAME CEO / Creator of Phantom Blade Zero

@Jbotsx @ProtoRoboto0939 @DullahanAmai @pbzero_official Explain exactly what tasks you are referring to when you say tedious tasks. Give some examples. Do any of them involve getting ideas, like generating concept art for ideation, generating ideas for game mechanics, or generation of content in any way?

@Jbotsx @ocabecadebigorn @pbzero_official Any generative-AI will be and shld be cnsidered slop. Gen-AI is not "just a tool." AI that isn't generative could be a tool, and the term slop wldn't apply bc it's not producing content. If any content is produced/generated by AI, it is slop

Yeah I'm not talking about that type of AI. Obviously the human creation of art is better right now. I'm talking about coding, tedious processes. I think people think of those weird AI slop videos when they see a game studio using AI. Which it's not. They are using tools to speed up work which does lead to more jobs

@Jbotsx @wrangler_warner @youngdawk92 @pbzero_official No, u are making an assumption bc u want to believe ppl don't undrstnd AI so u can justify having lower standards to urself. U even said "right now" meaning ull be fine with AI being used once its better than human-made. But a lot of ppl believe art shld alwys remain human-made

@AnonWolfoRagnar @Pirat_Nation U jst think that bc you want to try to take credit for work you didnt do. If you had a friend who was a master musician come over and you gave them prompts for pieces of music to write, is that friend a 'tool' that you used? Do you deserve to benefit off of that friend's work?

@Pirat_Nation Honestly, I've never seen arguments against technology as flimsy, arbitrary, and outright misinformed as anti-AI. It's very clear that most "criticism" is just a desperate desire to create a moat between what people can do and what AI's exponentially advancing capabilities are.

Former Blizzard President Mike Ybarra, now CEO of a gambling site, tells Crimson Desert devs not to apologize for using AI in-game. “I don't get why devs feel the need to bend over for the few folks who can't accept the reality that AI will be in everything—from video games to your fridge (it already is).”

@_fraecker_ @Pirat_Nation Not just a tool. If you had a friend who was a master musician come over and you gave them prompts for pieces of music to write, is your friend a 'tool' that you used? Do u deserve to benefit off of their work? Also the code editor analogy is false for so many reasons

@cryonicangel @Pirat_Nation This is ridiculous. If you had a friend who was a master musician come over and you gave them prompts to write pieces of music for you, which you then used, would your friend be considered a tool you used and would you have any right using their work for your own gain?

@Pirat_Nation AI is just a tool. Like any other - Engine, assets, motion capture data whatever. Used wisely, it can reduce the cost and time to get the game done. Gamers will decide if the game is good or bad - regardless of what tools were used to build it.

Since #AI bros are all showing off things they’ve “made”… I made this. Twenty five years ago, I drew this animation by hand, with pencil, on paper, frame by frame on fours (AI “filmmakers” will have to look up what that means) by slugging the timing (again, look it up) below the drawings, at which point it was handed off to human beings who rotoscoped my animatic (keep researching, guys) with both CGI and traditional/digital tools to make it match exactly what I’d drawn. It took a long time and a lot of work. But I can say “We made this” and there’s no debate to be had. See how that works? #FairlyOddParents #NoToGenerativeAI

Now that I've seen the full quote, it boils down to, "We're not going to use AI, unless we do, and if we do, it won't be for concept art, and if it is for concept art, it'll be trained on data we own or we'll be super sure about the origin." Wishy washy and basically meaningless.

When we say no GenAI in games (or anywhere for that matter), we don't just mean concept art. We mean everything. It doesn't help anyone go faster, it constantly hallucinates, pollutes the environment and it adds work on people's plate. Business adoption fell to 12% in 2025.
