After leading 41 training sessions, visiting 27 schools and working with thousands of teachers since January, I think I’ve got a fairly good handle on the mood in the profession. Here’s what I’ve observed. Everyone is working flat out. Harder than they’ve ever worked before.

Morning folks - Monday 4 - some work with our pastoral team this morning and some line management. I have a Y11 lesson in their somewhere with their revision, a safeguarding briefing to deliver then dash back home for a seminar on how to write systematic reviews

Morning folks - beyond tired this morning. Somehow today I need to finish uni presentation, teach 2 lessons, 7.30 meeting with CoG and anything else the day presents and then an online lecture tonight

Last day in my forties. And so much going on with my mental health and life that I’m a broken mess who dislikes herself and feels lost. I hide it so well. Isn’t it awful when you feel people would be better off without you. God grant me the strength to work through this. 🥹🥹

Morning folks - hand in day for my report and a few line manager meetings. Also got to juggle some time on a uni piece of work that was asked for last Friday and due this Friday 🤦also shattered this week so need a slower pace of decision-making needed

Morning folks - busy day ahead. Uni dropped an extra piece of work on us so that's added some more stress. Some meetings to navigate this morning and then teaching this afternoon. And a supervision session to end the day

Today is my mum’s birthday 🎉
Last year, we were preparing her for her first round of chemo (what a terrible birthday that was) But today feels like a whole new world away from that.
It’s also a beautiful reminder that YOU all wiped out her wish list - not once, not twice, but three times! For days, she had presents arriving from all over the world. Even now, she still says it was the best birthday she’s ever had.
Mum is now in remission, and there’s no greater gift than life 🙏🏼❤️
Never underestimate the kindness of strangers. Thank you again for helping us get through such a difficult time.
