Hollywood "remakes" have such a predictable formula now... Darker, edgier, more sexually directed. For once, could we embrace some brighter themes?! The world seems scary enough as it is.

As we "cancel" more things, ideas, etc, and subsequently "cancel" those who, at any point in life, may have expressed some sort of opinion on these matters, I'm not entirely sure we will get less of these things, as much as simply more striving (aka paying more) to cover them up.

Yes, there’s a long list of reasons for Canada to open its arms to newcomers from around the world, but it is reckless and inhumane to do so without being prepared for the magnitude of services and housing required as a result. Many of us have been sounding the alarm for over five years on this, participating in discussions and roundtables with Federal Ministers, explaining the need and proposing solutions, but - crickets. My "favourite" thing is when people spend all the time you're together (at some event you planned) talking about some other event with someone else, saying what a wonderful time they had, and then they wonder why I don't want to bother making any effort, ever again, for them...

The main crux is this: it will always be easier to do the wrong thing, than the right one. If something feels too easy, chances are it's not going to be most beneficial in the long run. Solid investments take time and effort, and the return is not usually instant gratification

My favourite part of religious extremism is the idea that women are somehow less susceptible to assault/rape/etc due to "modest clothing." Let's look back on every other era in history, where people (women) arguably wore far more, and STILL suffered innumerable instances of abuse

As I've gotten older, one of the more important lessons I have learned through experience, is that not everything has to be difficult, or done in the most mentally/physically taxing way. Sometimes, it really can just be simple. Can't begin to tell you how impactful that has been.
