Germans must apologize and pay the descendant of Nama-Herero & Damara. This was the first holocaust in the world.

Zimbabwe Suspends Exports of Raw Minerals and Lithium Concentrates Zimbabwe has suspended the export of all raw minerals and lithium concentrates with immediate effect until further notice. Minister of Mines and Mining Development Polite Kambamura said the directive also applies to minerals currently in transit. Government said the measure was taken in the national interest and expects cooperation from the mining industry. Authorities added that they remain committed to transparency, in-country value addition, compliance and accountability in mineral exports. The ban on lithium concentrates had been scheduled to take effect in January 2027 to encourage local processing. However, in a letter addressed to the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe, the ministry said export procedures would be realigned following concerns about continued malpractices during mineral exports. The review aims to curb leakages and improve efficiency. Zimbabwe holds Africa’s largest lithium reserves. The country exported 1.128 million metric tonnes of lithium-bearing spodumene concentrate in the year ending December 2025, an 11% increase from the previous year. Most of the concentrate is exported to China for further processing into battery-grade materials. Mining contributes 14.3% to Zimbabwe’s gross domestic product (GDP), making it the second-largest sector after manufacturing, according to the World Bank. Report: Abigail Nalisa Photo: Contributed
