@tonytardio My wife’s Italian dad left his wife behind in Italy for 3 years whilst he worked the cane fields in Tully North Queensland. Almost no correspondence for 3 years. Settled with wife and worked the steelworks in Wollongong till he retired, never getting a government hand out.
