REVIEW: "I've always loved fairy tales, but this one (Tales of the Wandering Mists by @oleg_veretskiy) is so much more. The symbolism throughout the story is magnetic and leaves the interpretations up to the reader. The things I enjoyed about this book besides the incredible interwoven story are the characters. Lisa is just a little girl. And her mother is dying. She's extremely sad and would do anything to save her mother. So when Jonathan shows up with a magical music box, the journey Lisa embarks on takes her through unimaginable scenarios. Along the way, she meets The Craftsman, The InsideOut Man, The Gardener and the darkness of Acrid. I was mesmerized by this story and how it aligns with so many of my spiritual beliefs. Perhaps it's not meant to be spiritual, but that's how I saw it. The infinite battle between light and dark rages. I loved the rainbow birds who sacrificed their lives for the cause. There is just so much in this book that touched me. If you are a lover of fairy tales with a strong message, then this book is for you. My friends, I have some news to share. Early in December, a friend messaged me and told me that he nominated me for the Illinois Red Cross Hero Awards and I was honored, of course and filed it away in my very full brain. The @RedCrossIL asked to do a call in February and I figured it was for further information but instead (much to my huge surprise) they called me and told me that I have been selected as this year's recipient of the Global Citizenship Hero Award. I sat there in complete surprise not knowing what to say for a solid minute (if you know me this is rare) before mustering up the ability to say thank you. I wasn't permitted to share until the press release came out and it is here. A Hero means many things. For me I share this honor with my unit Black Cats Medical Group and squadron @5th_center who are heros to me. Courage is always fighting for what you believe in no matter what the circumstance. Today, Ukrainian "Slava Ukraini" is a worldwide known expression in support of freedom, dignity, and shared human values. Russia’s genocidal war against Ukraine reminds us that language is an element of national security, along with culture and history. For centuries, Russia tried to silence our language and erase our identity. It failed. Just as it failed to take over Ukraine in 3 days and to break our resistance during over three years of full-scale war. Ukrainian language has survived. We have endured, defended our state, and together with our partners we will restore a just peace for Ukraine.
