Complement to the previous TFCC case. This is what I came up with to obtain a coronal image of the TFCC to assess its peripheral insertion. We perform a maximum flexion of the wrist; in this way, we move the triquetrum and create a small window through which we can support the US transducer. It's important to flex the wrist in a neutral position to obtain the correct orientation of the peripheral TFCC, as we try to do when we do an MRI. We can also obtain a beautiful sagittal view by moving the transducer. #mskrad #MedTwitter

Lower threshold for using CT alongside MRI in high risk BSI Useful where concern re: Fracture configuration or cortical involvement underestimated on MRI twitter.com/DrJN_SportsMed… Healing status / delayed union Ruing out differential diagnosis eg tumour, osteomyelitis

Consent✅ Unusual proximal posterior tibial stress # post marathon - see MRI Despite aggressive offload, intra-cortical stress # seems to have progressed on CT -sagittal shows extensive cranio-caudal extension MRI can under-estimate stress injury - if not improving get CT

Stress fractures - a detailed thread 🦴🦴🦴 I thought I'd put together an overview & some clinical nuggets from the 'coal-face' First up, I prefer to call them 'bone stress injuries' - majority don't have a # line on imaging & the language can be scary / nocebic for some

Cyclops injury. Also known as localized anterior arthrofibrosis, it is almost exclusively a complication of ACL reconstruction, with the appearance of an ovoid nodule most commonly located on the anterior aspect of the ACL graft near the tibial insertion. Risk factors female gender, greater graft volume, bone avulsion lesions, excessive anterior tibial tunnel, and double-bundle ACLR. This case is a 23-year-old man, a high-level athlete, with limited and painful terminal knee extension post-ACLR. The relationship of the cyclops lesion with the limitation of the knee extension during flexion-extension maneuvers can be observed. Undoubtedly, magnetic resonance imaging of the knee is the imaging study of choice. Still, dynamic ultrasound can be an excellent complement to demonstrate to the patient and treating physician its causality. #mskrad

🟢Hip external rotation range of motion is maximized in retroverted hip patients. 🟢Femoral version abnormalities affected hip muscle strength. 🟢Rotation index is a strong femoral version predictor 🟢Femoral version should be considered in decision making of patients w/ hip pain

🟢Range of motion and muscle strength differed in hips with different femoral versions. The hip rotation index was a strong femoral version predictor. 🟢Hip internal rotation range of motion is maximized in anteverted hip patients.
