@AndrewGYork @zacsimile @pco_imaging Why I seem to be the only one to experience these crashes is still a mystery to me though.

@AndrewGYork @zacsimile @pco_imaging Actually - funny turn of events: I continued to get crashes even with your (and @zacsimile's) code! PCO support worked really hard and found a memory allocation bug that now seems to fix everything. I'll file an issue on both your repos with the fix as soon as I have a moment.

That was an interesting read.

@zacsimile @pco_imaging @AndrewGYork Thanks! I'll definitely take a look if we end up going down that road. It's hard to understand how this package can still have such a serious bug three years later.

@AndrewGYork @zacsimile @pco_imaging Thanks a lot for the link! We're still trying the official package, but if we give up, this will be very useful. Now we know that the crashes were caused by ipython>=8.1.0... Still, without the root cause it's risky to invest in writing serious code based on a buggy package...
