@PigsAndPolling We pride ourselves on progress, yet with all our knowledge, technology, and scientific advancement, we've become more selfish and morally adrift than those who came before us. They lacked what we have yet somehow held on to a greater sense of humanity.

Last night, the Lords rejected safeguards on abortion pills by post and refused to block abortion up to birth. We like to think we’re more civilised than the past. Are we? I think we know which way King Herod would've voted👇

So you will be able to kill a baby the day before it is to be born with no consequences. And the idea that it will always be a woman choosing this rather than being pressed to do it is nonsense.
Right To Life UK@RightToLifeUK

Tonight’s vote means there will be no legal deterrent against a woman inducing her own abortion right up to full-term for any reason, including sex-selective abortions. A civilised society does not permit abortion up to birth. Only 1% of the public support it. 3/

We criticise past generations for their ‘backward’ approach to women’s rights and racial equality. But at least they didn’t vote to kill babies. gbnews.com/politics/abort…

They did it. You will now be able to abort a baby as late as 39 weeks in utero with no legal consequences. Britain is sick. Reform / Restore / Tories must immediately commit to repealing this appalling decision.

This afternoon, I held my baby niece, who is 10 days old. Tonight, I'm watching my parliament debate whether babies her same size and stage should be allowed to be aborted, even days before their birth. Our society surely can't be this barbaric.

When I was a pre-med student at Trinity College Dublin we had an “objective” lecture on abortion from the Irish State Pathologist Prof. John Harbison. He went through in great detail how abortions are performed and how they are not the simple “procedure” commonly assumed. What takes place was so grim and horrific. One of my fellow students fainted and the female students in particular were very uncomfortable. There is a reason the harsh reality is kept under wraps. And now imagine this horror happening to a fully formed baby. We have to be better than this.

Tonight peers vote on abortion: a social justice issue. In one ward, doctors fight to save a baby. In another, they kill a baby. The difference, very often, comes down to which baby is wanted or can be afforded. Where is the equality? Where is the fairness? 1/2

Tragically for the baby in the womb, by 185 votes to 148 votes, @UKHouseofLords rejected @MoncktonR Baroness Monckton's, amendment to overturn the new extreme clause allowing self administered home abortions up to birth. Peers also rejected by 191 votes to 119 votes Baroness Stroud's amendment to reinstate in-person consultations with a medical professional, prior to an abortion taking place at home. So, a bad day for vulnerable women, a bad day for the unborn child, a bad day for medical ethics and a bad day for the sanctity of human life. Nevertheless, both in @UKParliament , and in public polling, people have been reassessing and rejecting laws that have led to the ending of one UK life every two minutes -300,000 every year. In 1967, when abortion was made legal, just 29 MPs voted pro life- so, opposition has grown. But, bad laws will only change when the public push the right to life up the political agenda.

Tonight the House of Lords will vote on an Abortion Bill allowing termination up to birth. Murdering a perfectly legitimate beautiful life. We have fallen to new depths of depravity if this is passed. 💔 @AllisonPearson @pinkladies_uk

They did: MSPs decisively rejected the Holyrood Assisted Death Bill 57-69. Thank you to everyone in Scotland who contacted your MSPs and stopped this Bill bringing terrible harm to women at their most vulnerable.

If Scottish Parliament TV can’t even manage a working live stream, what does that say about running a state-sanctioned death service?

Supporters of the State Suicide Service in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 are saying that those who have lost their human dignity should be helped to kill themselves. This isn't just cruel - it is based on a lie. No one lacks human dignity, because human dignity is inherent. Nothing can take it away.
