It is better to lead a person to want to do a thing than to make them do a thing. Rather than impose pressure to get an immediate change, take the longer but more solidifying course of leading them to desire the change as their own idea and choice—“from the heart.” Romans 6:17
"The essence of sin is man substituting
himself for God, while the essence of salvation is God substituting
himself for man. Man asserts himself...and puts
himself where only God deserves to be; God sacrifices himself...and puts himself where only man deserves to be." J.Stott
Your life is not a series of random events. Your family background, education, and life experiences—even the most painful ones—all equip you to do some work that no one else can do (Eph 2.10).
3) Pursue connection over conversion
The latter is never your responsibility. Period.
Connect for the sake of connecting.
Sometimes the best ministry is done when not done for the purpose of ministry.
When will the age of church oriented around a prolific communicator and a stage be over?
When will the age of church oriented around presence at the table and a neighborhood begin?
Evangelistically, the smartest thing the church can do is enlist and pay it’s artistically creative, technologically skilled, and theologically sound young adults to completely reimagine, redesign, and reform our mission with a cultural voice the world can understand.
