Personal Greetings
1I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servanta of the church at Cenchreae, 2that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever she may need from you, for she has been a patron of many and of myself as well.
3Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, 4who risked their necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks but all the churches of the Gentiles give thanks as well. 5Greet also the church in their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who was the first convertb to Christ in Asia. 6Greet Mary, who has worked hard for you. 7Greet Andronicus and Junia,c my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners. They are well known to the apostles,d and they were in Christ before me. 8Greet Ampliatus, my beloved in the Lord. 9Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and my beloved Stachys. 10Greet Apelles, who is approved in Christ. Greet those who belong to the family of Aristobulus. 11Greet my kinsman Herodion. Greet those in the Lord who belong to the family of Narcissus. 12Greet those workers in the Lord, Tryphaena and Tryphosa. Greet the beloved Persis, who has worked hard in the Lord. 13Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord; also his mother, who has been a mother to me as well. 14Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brotherse who are with them. 15Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them. 16Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you.
Final Instructions and Greetings
17I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. 18For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites,f and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. 19For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil. 20The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
21Timothy, my fellow worker, greets you; so do Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen.
22I Tertius, who wrote this letter, greet you in the Lord.
23Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus, greet you.g
Doxology
25Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages 26but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith— 27to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.

@catturd2 It would help things, but when Schwarzenegger was governor as a Republican, he could get very little done because of the Democrat majorities in the legislature and the courts.
English

@sola_chad False. Calvin would not agree with Calvinism.

You can't even trust in the mercy and grace of God
Yet you trust that a rotting corpse can hear your prayers and do those things
"advocate of the impossible"
Lord have mercy on us
Uche is a girl@UcheMaryOkoli
O powerful Saint Rita, advocate of the impossible, intercede for me in my time of need. Bring hope where there is despair, and help me trust in God’s mercy. Amen. St. Rita of Cascia, pray for us.

@Joseph_Spurgeon I think it's poor logic to take Biblical advice from those who make up things not in the Bible as dogma, like Mary being born sinless.
English

Roman Catholics are always telling me sola scriptura is not in the Bible.
That is cute.
I thought you people were not supposed to interpret the Bible for yourselves. I thought that was the whole speech. The ordinary Christian cannot rightly understand Scripture. The individual believer is not authorized to settle doctrine. You need the church. You need the magisterium. You need Rome.
And yet, somehow, every Roman Catholic on the internet becomes a one man magisterium the second he wants to tell a Protestant what the Bible “really says.”
So here is my new rule:
I do not take Bible lessons from people who insist they are not competent or authorized to give them.
English

@PastorHamilton8 Think what you like. The Holy Spirit is my guide.
English

@PaxAeterna I don't know fellow believers who "really, really, really don't like Catholics."
I know several and am among those whose heart breaks when I see Catholics praying to idols, making up things like the assumption of and praying to Mary.
English

I'm discovering there's a collection of Protestants who really, really, really don't like Catholics. Holy smokes. I'm not afraid to spread the Truth and share Catholicism, and I will be vocal. I can coexist with no issue, heck, I'm in Oklahoma. But of course we will convert everyone we can. I want America Catholic. That is our goal. But I’ll still love my brothers and sisters in Christ if they choose not to convert.
English

@CatholicRob Yet it was the Catholic Church that contrived a mass in Latin that few understood, who burned people at the stake for translating the Bible, who killed thousands in the Inquisition.
English

What's really funny is how Protestantism thrived pre-internet and began to collapse when people could fact check their nonsense in real time.
Joel Berry@JoelWBerry
It would also explain why Catholicism thrived pre-printing press and waned as literacy increased
English

@farmingandJesus Going right straight to Jesus! Absent from the body, present with the Lord.
English

@TheresaArueyin1 The Holy Spirit. Sorry. I cannot do one word.
English

@TheStaad Im glad for you. I found the opposite. The mass seemed contrived, and the whole service seemed impersonal and obligatory when I went to the Catholic church. But the evangelical church that I’ve attended, seems so loving and personal, and joyous! They love on me & family.
English

Just over 3 years ago, I got baptized in an evangelical church and made the difficult decision to leave an immoral relationship. If I was going to be a Christian, I was going to do it right and not be a hypocrite
For the next year, I attended that church and went to Christian counseling, but I was hitting a spiritual ceiling. I knew there was more to the faith than 3 pop songs and a sermon. I just didn’t know what I was really missing. I longed for a breakthrough
Then, I went with a friend to a Mass. I was blown away. I didn’t know why, but I knew God was present and moving there in an authentic way. The evangelical church I was attending felt contrived. It was just a well-choreographed product. The Mass felt REAL
Now that I’ve been Catholic a couple of years, the breakthrough has been lasting and profound. The past two years have been life changing. Authenticity made the difference. I didn’t want a church that resembled the world. I wanted the Church that Christ founded
I love the Catholic Church and am eternally grateful I found home

@TheresaArueyin1 This invitation from Jesus to come to Him is a lifelong balm that I have used many times.
English

@HoldenCCole The apocrypha was judged by the council of Nicaea to be non-canonical and not inspired. Long before Luther.
English

@SonofManwithus OK. I don't. But what if it is, Nick? I mean, so what?
It has nothing whatever to do with Jesus' ministry or salvation.
English

@IMPERATORAUS Were they right to force baptism on Jews? Were they right to kill hundreds in the Inquisition? Were they right to have who they termed heretics burned at the stake? Were they right to sell sin in advance (indulgences)?
If so, you have a bizarre notion of "right."
