@MassiasThanos page updated with pics from September 2022. It would have made an excellent tourist attraction but there was little interest back in 2007 when it might have been possible to save it.

@PillboxSG Sad. From the photos it seemed like, back then, it could be restored. Even just the screen with some modern projectors, the authentic training films and some vintage equipment should be enough. In fact, I think there still exists one dome in that setup. Thanks for the info!

Pillboxes from #Canewdon, plus crew on-site (date unknown). The pillboxes are Type 22s & a lovely FW3/22, forming the A.A. defences for the facility. The station here tracked Neville Chamberlain’s flight to Munich in 1938. Post-#WW2 one tower was moved to Gt. Baddow by #Marconi.

The sides were also camouflaged with a skirt of cam net stretched out from waist height to ground and attached with [notice the hooks still in sides] to disguise its shape from aerial view as well as face on.
