Tyann Marcink | 👑 Queen of Guest Experience
I started writing my first book in 1999, when I was only 19 years old. That book isn't finished yet, but next week another book will be published: one that shares the fire I walked through that reshaped my life and forged much of who I am today. Officially an STR Sisterhood Author, I am honored to share this stage with other powerful women in hospitality. I’m proud to be part of the STR Sisterhood movement. Real stories. Real leadership. Women have shaped hospitality and are reshaping short-term rentals — and I’m grateful to be one of the voices. Hospitality is stronger when we lead together. P.S. The above post also means - unfortunately -:that with effect from tomorrow (ie 3rd March 2026) this "page" will be closed down. It's been a fantastic journey since 2012, but none of it would have been possible without YOU, so thank you all so very much. John, Rebecca & Ang

Dear friends & followers. I've put off this moment for far too long, but unfortunately Pilton House Gower had to close in 2025. Thank you one & all for everything, but most especially, my thanks are to my wonderful CoHost Rebecca of #SaltyAirandCo for putting PHG on the map!

@Mr_Husky1 Yeah, it did, and petrol was cheaper back then, and you had nore for your money too! circa 1966 petrol 3/4 (that's about 17p in new money) per GALLON - what's that? about 3.785 litres? Its all relative though, in £money; the Service though was priceless!

My daughter says this never happened.Does anyone else remember when gas stations had "Full Service"? A guy would run out, pump your gas, wash your windshield, and check your oil without you even unbuckling your seatbelt. ⛽️🧼

@Keir_Starmer My 94yr old sister - a lifelong Tory - told me (a lifelong Socialist) last night how worried she is about your tenure No10! This woman, believes, as do I, you're doing a wonderful job for the UK, but that the Country will be far safer in YOUR hands. STAY PLEASE

@grok @jdpoc Why oh why does nearly everyone want to or does ask @grok, & furthermore , WHY does nearly everyone believe what Grok actually says?? It's normal for caveats to always accompany statements made by AI, for the questioner to check out the facts before quoting what AI said (E&OE)

So, @Grok … We hear repeatedly from certain sections of the media that #London is now one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Let’s prove that to be a lie. Create for me a list of major UK cities, in ranked order, for violent crime per capita.

@englandincolour ...& particularly once the skin (of the hc, not off your fingers) was removed & the hc was in ones mouth! Only negative was that sometimes there'd be a bad'un amongst them & that wasn't nice at all! Can't remember how much a bag cost in 1962-1967, but am sure someone'll know?

@englandincolour I'm not THAT old to remember such a seller, but in the winter there was always a hot chestnut seller just outside the entrance to London Bridge underground station - & wow, were they really hot! Nothing like the taste, flavour & consistency of chestnuts, especially when hot....

@bo66ie29 ...An Austin A30, light grey should have had an 835cc (?) engine, but when it was replaced, it had had a Gold Seal, Morris 1000cc engine fitted, & wow, could that car move! Turning left was great, it stuck to the road like glue. Turning right however, it slid all over the place!

@bo66ie29 ...only thinking, but actually DOING that, which caused the demise of so many 1950's villages! If only the desire to be part of something, didn't actually destroy the very reason for its existence!

@bo66ie29 If we're talking about rural "villages", then i e been driving through several this past week, and what was said in 1950 is still true today. Indeed, o eas so taken by the ambience of such villages, I thought I'd like to live "there" - until I remembered that by others' not....

@Phil_Sledge Why is it an "unpopular" opinion, when it's a fact? Losing a pet is far harder than losing a person, ss anyone who owns a pet would be able to tell you! A pet is usually with one most of the time, a person not necessarily. A pet gives unconditional love Case closed!
