The official, world charity premiere of the film Pink Floyd The Wall, in aid of the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Centre was at the Empire Leicester Square in London, on this day in 1982. It was attended by Waters and fellow Pink Floyd members David Gilmour and Nick Mason, but not Richard Wright, who was no longer a member of the band. It was also attended by various celebrities including Bob Geldof, Gerald Scarfe, Pete Townshend, Sting, and racing driver James Hunt.

An advert for four of the six shows Pink Floyd played at the short-lived London Arena in the Docklands area, with the first night being a fundraiser, and the last starting at 4pm. This was to give them enough time to get to their next venue on the tour! They were the second headliner to perform at the 15,000 capacity venue, which struggled due to its location and transport links. Did you catch any of these shows?

It's the 58th anniversary of Pink Floyd releasing their second album, A Saucerful of Secrets. Work on the album began in August 1967, before David Gilmour joined, and therefore the album included tracks which featured David Gilmour as well as Syd Barrett. Do you know which they both play on though? The album sports a cover design by Hipgnosis - their first for the band - which uses collage techniques to include elements from an edition of the Strange Tales comic book (issue 158 to be exact!).
