Look here boy, I'm not saying Korra is not a good water bender, what I'm trying to say it that unalaq, katara, Ming hua, Amon, Yakone, this people are good water benders But saying she's a better water bender than unalaq is the biggest lie in Avatar fandom, this is unalaq using water bending against Korra who is using the four elements, and he still had the upper hand, and vaatu only increase his ability power, not his skills

The situations weren’t really comparable. Aang took Yakone’s bending because Yakone had already proven he could bloodbend an entire courtroom, escape justice, and remain an ongoing threat. Energybending was used as a last resort when no prison could reliably contain him.
Korra’s enemies were different. Zaheer was imprisoned in a custom-built White Lotus prison designed specifically to neutralize him, Kuvira surrendered and faced trial, and even after Harmonic Convergence Zaheer voluntarily remained imprisoned. Korra generally chose justice over permanently stripping someone’s bending unless there was absolutely no other option.
It’s also worth remembering that Aang himself only used energybending twice that we know of Ozai and Yakone. That suggests it’s meant to be an extraordinary measure, not the Avatar’s default punishment
