How was your ex-wife the gold-digger when you’re the one who stole the gold her parents gave her when you got married? “They wouldn’t give my gold back” is something too many brown divorced women relate to.

Boys who don’t experience consequences for bad behaviour grow up to be men who act badly in their marriages before they finally become ex-husbands who claim they have no idea where things went wrong (even though their ex-wives made it abundantly clear that they were unhappy).

4) for the first time ever, I find myself looking at pictures of baby girls and their Pink Ladoo and wondering if any of this even f*cking matters anymore or if my people now have much much much bigger fish to fry.

3) I feel disillusioned with people’s refusal to connect capitalism to racism and sexism… Some of the LARGEST “feminist” platforms on insta have not said a single word about G@z@. Others are run by open zi*ni$ts.

A friend asked today why I haven’t posted on Pink Ladoo for ages. Here’s why (a thread) 1) Over the last 10 months I’ve watched so many “leading” white feminists turn a blind eye towards, or worse, openly advocate for, g3n0c*de…

No one wants England to win more than women ⚽️ Studies show that DV reports increase by 38% when England lose and by 26% if England win or draw. Football tournaments are an incredibly difficult time for many. Keep an eye on your loved ones. Show DV the red card.

The problem isn’t that we don’t have enough female leaders, it’s that we don’t have enough fair, just, & kind leaders. Anyone can have those qualities - many men do & many women don’t. Stereotyping these qualities as “female traits” is dangerous. Just look at this picture.

Studies show that for many parents 'gender-neutral' often means buying 'boys things' for girls, but rarely the reverse. Letting our daughters dress like Harry Potter is easier than letting our sons dress like Princess Elsa because men are still seen as the superior sex.

Studies show that for many parents 'gender-neutral' often means buying 'boys things' for girls, but rarely the reverse. It's common for boys to be ridiculed for liking 'girly' things whilst 'boy-ish' girls get praise - and it's because men are still seen as the superior sex.

Unpopular opinion but if your parents expect you to put up with someone’s shit as a wife or daughter-in-law then they probably also expected you to put up with their shit as a daughter.

Just two girls packing boxes of sweets that will be distributed to celebrate and announce their girl cousin’s birth. I’m willing to bet this activity will be a core memory for them.

Since my article in Der Spiegel on Gaza, I’ve received countless messages from Germans. I want to show you this angry email from a professor which is quintessential as it ticks almost all the boxes with the problematic German position. Let’s dissect this🧵

Brown people will lecture their kids about the dangers of succumbing to peer pressure whilst simultaneously peer pressuring people they know to stay in bad marriages or ‘try for a boy’ Make it make sense.

This lohri, I want you to remember that this is a festival about faith, steadfastness and new beginnings. Not much else. The rest is all noise and sexist intergenerational propaganda (which is all sexist customs really are).

How did it become about boys? Well, it’s not hard to imagine how a festival that originally started out to celebrate a young boy being saved from death by 🔥 because of his devotion turned into celebrating boys surviving the winter, to then just celebrating boys being born. —>

Lohri’s origins and how it became about celebrating boys: Eons ago there was a tyrant who demanded all in his kingdom workshop him instead of God. But his young son, Prehlaad, refused. Enraged, the King ordered his sister to burn Prehlaad alive. Prehlaad survived, unharmed. —>
