one example of performative behavior i've noticed for years is where when a piece of japanese media has a very widely used localized name in english some fans of it will insist on using the japanese name anyway for some reason. very "place, japan" vibes

Brutal honesty, might be cruel but if you want accurate representation of autism, go for Jeffrey class of '09 He isn't what you would think of as disabled but he's just a fucking weirdo who nobody likes. That is essentially high functioning autism. Unlikeable, annoying weird.

I also think the art of HOW to critique constructively is getting lost in the internet age. It’s ok to not like something and have an opinion on why. But if you GENUINELY are trying to help, framing it in a kind way is much more effective and more likely to be heard.
