honestly one of the biggest reasons Khemjira hit so hard is because they respected the novel’s world. they didn’t just adapt it, they believed in it. you can feel how deeply they understood the characters and fully immersed themselves to bring them to life 😭 like- sometimes adaptations take the lore from a novel and put it on screen, but you can tell the team doesn’t truly get, or believe in, that universe 😭 but Khemjira? they knew exactly what they were stepping into and came in fully prepared, almost 100%, to honor it and bring it to life the way it deserved 🥹
