It's early, and I treat it with total seriousness anyway because the goal is marriage. If that isn't the goal, why engage at all? She didn't make me beg, simp, or compete. She came organically. No games, no "grass is greener" leverage. I just wish we'd found each other younger and skipped the years apart. She helped me see the point: building a life with your person, both of you seen for exactly who you are. I see in color again. I don't look back with bitterness, because the work is in the present. A few things I now hold as true: God brings the right person into your life at the right time. For men, the right woman. For women, the right man. Recognize it, then be faithful and grateful. Who you spend your time with shapes who you become. Effort isn't a grand gesture. It's showing up the same way every day - flaws and all. For men, patience. For women, femininity. Strength in a man isn't depriving her of anything; it's loving, protecting, and providing. And love isn't a contest she has to keep winning under threat. I've made money. I own businesses. I create. What I'm not yet is a husband or a father. That's the only accomplishment I'll ever rank above the rest and if she's the one who makes it possible. I'll give everything to it. We met for a reason. I'll keep that reason holy and do my part, and she'll do hers. Jesus is the way. I'm excited for what's ahead.

It is two people becoming one flesh before God - permanent, fruitful, faithful. The world will tell you to keep your options open. The Church and the Stoics agree: commit fully or not at all. Monogamy is not restriction. Fatherhood is not a cage. They are the narrow gate and blessed is the man who walks through it. "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few." - Matthew 7:13-14 (NABRE) Build something Holy. Then defend it with your life.
