As part of an annual event developed by the @UKPolarNetwork, our #PipersYear9 students designed inspirational flags with the theme 'in the interests of all mankind!' to be sent to Antarctica with a fantastic team of polar researchers. Each year since 2010, #AntarcticaDay has been celebrated on 1 December to mark the signing of the Antarctic Treaty in 1959. 12 nations collectively signed the document, declaring that Antarctica would be a country that is off limits to military activity, making it a place for peace and scientific discoveries. As part of this, they developed the Antarctic Flag initiative, which allowed our students to have the opportunity to learn more about the frozen planet and find more information about the treaty. Well done to each student who put together artwork for this wonderful initiative.

After collecting food items on our Christmas Jumper Day as well as toys, books and other products from our Christmas Fair, we are so proud to be able to donate almost a full truckload of essentials to @WycombeFoodHub, just in time to help those in need throughout the Christmas period. Wycombe Food Hub works with local partners to ensure that the most vulnerable can get good food and essentials at an affordable price. As a community, we are fortunate to have the opportunity to enjoy wonderful lunches during term time and we also take great pride in our charitable efforts. On Friday 13 December, our students and staff embraced a different kind of charitable initiative by having a World Hunger Awareness lunch and a thought-provoking assembly. This has invited a different kind of generosity in our School community: the ability to give up a little for the sake of others. With the meaning of Christmas changing for everyone as they get older, our new Head of Prep Drama Mrs Brown worked with our #PipersPrep students to put together this year's Prep Christmas Show 'What Christmas Means to Me'. Coming together with each year group (from Years 3-6), everyone was keen to put together performances that would not only be performed by them, but for them as well, making the show a unique and personal performance for all involved. As part of a lovely Christmas story (and a yearly tradition for the family), we are so proud of Sophia W for her part in raising over £1000 for the Vitiligo Society as part of a Christmas Fundraiser. At the age of seven, Sophia was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition and has Vitiligo. As part of this year's Christmas Singing Awards Fundraiser on Saturday 14 December, Sophia has chosen to write and perform a song called ‘Possibilities’. We were proud to have Senior School student Tashvi M and Sixth Form students Martha F, Aminah J and Emily M represent the School in the first round of the English Speaking Union (ESU) National Debating Competition. Our student representatives demonstrated effective signposting (the practice of explicitly stating the main points of an argument before or after presenting them) and prioritising their points in the three debates, with each one chaired by Deputy Head Girl Emily M. TThe judges also agreed that the quality of debating from our students was high, earning them their place in the next round. With Aminah J and Tashvi M speaking in the competition for the first time, this success acts as a huge boost for our student team and we look forward to seeing how they progress in the upcoming rounds.

🎄🎄 Today our #PipersPrePrep students performed in this year's Nativity, 'Hey Ewe', a traditional Christmas story told from the perspective of an excitable and curious sheep.🎄🎄 This upbeat show told the story of an inquisitive little ewe, who loves to ask questions and know exactly what's going on. One night while the other sheep are trying to sleep, our Ewe witnesses extraordinary and unforgettable Christmas events. Packed to the brim with humour and catchy songs, the show had all the ingredients for a delightful Christmas production for our students and parents alike. 🎄🎄It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎄🎄 Our highly-anticipated Christmas Fair has once again been a huge success today. With our elves very busy setting up the Grotto ready for a visit from Father Christmas, external vendors, students and staff alike got into the festive spirit running their stalls. A perfect opportunity to get Christmas shopping done, support local business and charities. Thank you to everyone who supported us in what was undoubtedly a memorable festive event.

As an all-through girls’ school, we firmly believe in the power of a girls-only education. We specialise in tailoring the learning to the unique and specific needs of girls and young women, whilst also providing a supportive and nurturing environment for our students to believe in themselves and offering the tools to give them a head start in the next stage of their lives. The value of our targeted learning strategies really enables girls to engage in leadership opportunities, but also offers opportunities for all students to achieve beyond their own wildest expectations. Even in subjects (where girls are often underrepresented) such as Physics, Maths or other STEM subjects, there is a higher uptake of these subjects for A Level compared to those in co-educational environments. We are so proud that for the second year running (after the remarkable success of SIX: Teen Edition last year), we saw four sell-out shows of this year's #PipersSenior production of Legally Blonde, making it a real box office success. With stand-out performances from #PipersYear8 upwards, this captivating show highlighted the importance of challenging stereotypes and how strength can come in many forms, reminding us all of the importance of staying true to your values in the face of doubt, supporting others as they discover their voice or simply being bold enough to take a leap into the unknown. As part of our #PipersYear12 Enrichment and to prepare our #PipersSixthForm students for life beyond Pipers, we were so proud of welcome back #PipersAlumnae who gave our students valuable information on how they found the university experience, the process for finding a graduate job and their career highlights. To start our new season of the Pipers Lecture Series, we welcomed Yoga Teacher Mrs Torpey and recognised member of the Pipers Marketing team to talk to our invited scholars about looking past the poses in a yoga practice. In this workshop, Mrs Torpey gave our students information about the history of traditional yoga, the philosophy that surrounds it and how a modern practice can be beneficial for overall wellbeing and mental health, giving the students the overall message to find their own unique ways to take care of themselves. #PipersSenior #PipersSixthForm #PipersCommunity

There's no let up during a busy week at Pipers. Our #PipersSixthForm tutor groups came together today to support the #PipersPrePrep and #PipersPrep departments in creating over 160 Christingles for their Junior Service this weekend. We had a large number of our Legally Blonde cast and backstage crew who despite performing late last night in their opening night production, are still giving of their time to the younger students in the Pre-Prep and Prep departments. On Thursday 14 November, we saw this year's #YoungEnterprise teams 'Grounded' and 'Hive It Your Way' take part in our 'Meet the Dragons' event, alongside five other teams from local areas. Each team pitched their business to the Dragons and answered questions about their company, with Grounded securing a £70 investment and Hive It Your Way receiving £50. This serves as an excellent start to the Young Enterprise journey for each business.
