Dr. Butch Ware for California Governor 2026@ButchWare

Please join @vicmensa @ninaturnerohio @TheConsciousLee @Shut_downAmazon @AngelicaRossNow @VanLathan @fernandodeveras Rolla Selbak @sneedlaw and others as @DocMellyMel and @ButchWare host #unityuprising ‘Black Radical Traditions and Collective Liberation.’ On April 4th, the 58th anniversary of Dr. King’s martyrdom, please join us at @CalStateLA MLK Lecture Hall for a gathering of pro-Black radical thinkers, leaders, and cultural producers. #unityuprising convenes in the spirit of the great convergences of the 1960s when Malcolm and Martin, the Panthers and liberation theologians, socialists and cultural nationalists held in tension the full complexity of Black freedom struggle, and lit the path to collective liberation. Rooted in African and Diasporic Radical Traditions, and hosted by professors Melina Abdullah and Butch Ware, this gathering brings together leading figures in movement politics, culture, and organizing. The goal is to revisit and resurrect traditions of resistance and rebellion, radicalism and revolution.

Neither Barack Obama nor Kamala Harris would’ve been allowed to advance as far they have had they been “monoracial” Black people with dark skin and/or ancestors who were enslaved in the United States. Are we ready for this conversation? Because it’s 100% tied to capitalism.

Trying to hold a dead Ike Turner accountable for domestic violence while on a pod where the namesake has a long history of abuse including causing a woman to miscarry (& writing a rap about it) is wild
DUB HERE@TheFilesWithDUB

🚨Marc Lamont Hill seems FRUSTRATED while holding Ike Turner ACCOUNTABLE for Domestic Violence‼️ 😱 Zaire Franklin tries to compare McDonalds “Whites Only” signs to this Domestic Violence situation 😫😱🗂️ Why did the cast seem Ok with forgiving a guy who hit a woman❓🗂️

Milagro caught most of the flack about the misinformation & disinformation campaign about Meg & Tory but that podcast was one of the more higher profile platforms spreading the lies. Marc signed on to an open letter defending Meg but… here he is right with the opps 😂

Also what people refer to as participating in capitalism is actually commerce which is not the same thing. Most of us are merely exchanging money for goods or services which is commerce. We are not exploiting the labor of others for profit

Black people participating in capitalism because we have to is very different than being Black and *defending* capitalism in hopes that you will one day be a billionaire and be cool with Jeff Bezos. Two veryyyyy different things.

American capitalism is on the brink of collapse, that’s why we’re getting the Jay-Z interview & a flood of bots trying to convince people that capitalism is good for Black people lol

@MrFxrty4MaG @Pisceanluvher Obviously we have different struggles than non Black folks in our class, BUT we shouldn’t have any solidarity with the Jay-Z’s and the Beyoncé’s of the world. Bc they’ll choose to align with other billionaires before they align w the rest of us.

You have to understand how terrified the white establishment was of the power of hip hop in the aftermath of the ‘92 LA riots. Jay-Z, Puff & the “Black capitalism” marketing was part of suppressing Black political consciousness as we moved into the early 2000’s

@MrFxrty4MaG @Pisceanluvher I think what OP is saying is that we are not in community with these very rich people. They’ve shown they don’t WANT to be in community with us, so we need to show solidarity with our own class instead of hoping that Black millionaires and billionaires will help us get free.

@KenyaTheHunter @MrFxrty4MaG Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying. We should stop coveting and covering these c00n just because we share identity with them and unite around our shared class struggle. We outnumber them.

Black celebrities are demonstrating class solidarity. It would behoove the rest of us to lean into that. They’re gonna protect their interests over their identity every time. We should do the same. Instead of being human shields for people who don’t know we exist… (cont)
AshleyStevens@The_Acumen

I think a lot of Black celebrities are MAGA, which is their prerogative. However, the majority of the Black community (their core audience) aren’t. Fans don’t owe y’all money and unconditional support. Our relationship is strictly transactional.
