A series of 9 unsolved murders happened in Hempstead, Long Island area of NY 1984-1996. Many similarities to Gilgo Beach killings. Rex Heuermann lived, went to school and worked near the murders, including Gilgo victim Peaches, whose remains were also found in Hempstead.

In 2004, a link to an indie game was quietly shared to 2channel. It was met with a tepid response, but after the English translation, it quickly developed a cult following. Yume Nikki, which translates to Dream Diary, is wildly heralded as one of the most unique games to be created by an RPG Maker. Without dialogue or text, the story develops only through symbolic interpretation, relying heavily on atmosphere and implication. The game follows Madotsuki, a hikikomori who currently resides in Japan. She refuses to leave her small one-bedroom apartment, and her only escape or novelty is through dreams, where she navigates haunting worlds to acquire strange powers. Wordlessly, we explore themes of death, isolation, and suicide in a powerful and bewildering adventure.
