@TouchlineX Feel like this is when he’s most dangerous. Argentina need to start to get some of the ball to give him an opportunity to create some magic. And can’t see that happening with how Rodri is controlling this game.

🚨 Lionel Messi couldn't make much magic with the ball in the 1st half against Spain: · 0 shots · 15 touches · 4 carries · 1 defensive contribution · 1/1 tackles won

@TouchlineX Spain look on top, but I don’t think Argentina will be too mad with that half. They need to show some more ambition going forward and getting the ball to Messi though, even if it could leave them more susceptible to the Spanish attack.

@TheArsenalMind Can’t see Arsenal not adding a world class forward to their attack next year. They need to, to have any chance of retaining the prem and having a better chance in Europe.

Arsenal lost Rogers to Chelsea. Are you okay with only Tzolis and Martinelli for the LW? 🤔

@AFC__Xtra @lequipe Would be a big transfer, Arsenal need some quality reinforcements in midfield - and he could come in and start straight away, providing more competition and cover in that area. Norgard was hardly used last year so expect him to leave as well

🚨 @David_Ornstein: “Mikel Arteta will be disappointed with Arsenal missing on Rogers for sure.” “He was very keen on Rogers. if reports are to be believed, they spent time together. Arteta knowing him, he would have wanted this deal to be done and quickly.”

Argentina have played this first half perfectly so far. Keep on fouling the Spanish team and making the game a physical one - getting rid of Spains control. Saying that when in their rhythm Spain look much more dangerous on possession.

@TouchlineX Can see this happening with the way they’ve controlled games, conceding just once this tournament. But with the way Argentina play, Spain will find it difficult to deal with their physicality and the brilliance of Messi

@DeadlineDayLive The market has gone mental - wouldn’t be surprised to see a future limit on spending (especially for English clubs with their domination).

🚨 It's genuinely hard to disagree with a word he said here. Rogers is a very good player, but he scored 10 Premier League goals last season.. How can that justify £117M to make him the most expensive English player of all time? 🤯🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

🚨 Arsenal may need to reduce their £20M asking price for Gabriel Jesus amid interest from AC Milan. Milan are interested in the Brazilian striker, but Arsenal are not under pressure to sell him. The Gunners could ultimately refuse a departure rather than lower their valuation to secure a sale. (Source: @jorgenicola)

@EduardoHagn @David_Ornstein Arsenal not exactly flexing their budget this window. Have very stern views on their value of players and seem to not be budging. Already led to the loss of Roger’s, wonder how many more players they will miss because of this

🚨 @David_Ornstein: Arsenal also have a specific financial valuation for Bruno Guimaraes, so if it's possible to sign him at that price, the club will try to complete the deal, and if that's not possible, they will turn to other targets.

@TouchlineX @TeleFootball Spot on. If they can stop him from controlling the game, by making it tough for him with fouls and a high press, then they have a massive chance of neutralising this Spain team.

🚨 Manchester City are pushing to secure Rodri's future with a 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧, but talks have made little progress. City have been working to tie the Spain midfielder down to a fresh deal despite the lack of a breakthrough. Real Madrid have no interest in signing Rodri and are frustrated by the continued media speculation linking them with him. (Source: @TheAthleticFC)

@SebOnFootball An interesting debate, on that could be put to bed if Roger’s performs really well next year at a top 6 club. Roger’s probably has more potential, but the amount of quality Gibbs white put on show at the end of last year was nuts.

🏆World Cup Final🏆 🇪🇸Spain vs Argentina🇦🇷 With the build up of this game all around Messi and Lamine Yamal, talk around the two styles of the teams have been completely forgotten. France have often been labelled boring this tournament - completely controlling games in attack and defense because of their ability to hold possession of the ball. Meanwhile Argentina have often been quite poor in this tournament - in terms of giving the ball away and conceding a lot of chances, despite this they have improved every game with their control of the ball against England and amount of chances they created leading to their eventual progression. Its going to be really interesting to see how Spain deal with the dirty tactics of the Argentinians - making many fouls but also winning the ball back quickly, and what is often forgotten about this team is their fluidity in attack. When they have the ball they are able to move it forward quickly with direct balls centrally which then get distributed wide to then create chances centrally in the box. Meanwhile, Spain take a much more slow approach to games, tiring out their opposition with their possession than playing smart short passes in the final third, exploiting gaps which their movement create. Whats going to be decisive is how Spain deal with Messi. Having a major impact in every game, Messi will be the difference in this game if he is allowed the same amount of possession he was given by England. It is a real test of system (Spain) vs individual quality (Argentina and Messi). Despite Yamal often being poor this tournament, I can't see him not having an impact on this game also - but the key to Spain's success still lies with Rodri and the control he has on the game. If Argentina can somehow neutralise Rodri then they have a real chance. However I do believe this could go the full way and be a real tight game - decided by a moment of quality from either Yamal or Messi. Score Prediction: 1-1 Full time : 🇪🇸Spain 1 - 2🇦🇷 Argentina in extra time.
