By far and away the hardest of the Colorado chickens for us: ⁦@PittaGirl⁩ brilliantly picked up this Dusky Grouse sat stationary on the forest floor at Green Mountain, Boulder. I took this digibinned shot before it calmly walked away from us

Lesser Prairie-chickens lekking this morning: what an awesome experience with ⁦@PittaGirl⁩ That completes a clean sweep on the superb Great Chicken Rub in Colorado

Day 24 of the 2022 #dragonfly #AdventCalendar. Last but not least, the Large Red #damselfly is the first species to emerge in numbers across the UK each year. Common everywhere including garden ponds. Christmas is almost here, roll on April!

It's December so welcome to the 2022 #dragonfly #AdventCalendar featuring a different species each day for 24 days. We start with a Common Clubtail. Not at all common and until this year I'd never got a photo. So I went on a @BDSdragonflies guided dragonfly walk and saw several.

Day 24 #AdventCalendar One of my favourite bird families, kingfishers, we saw three very different species in Costa Rica, from the large Ringed and smaller Green to the petite American Pygmy Kingfisher. I particularly like the expression of the Ringed Kingfisher in the rain!
