Please avoid South St if you can. Traffic is being diverted over Dan Fox Dr. and South Mountain Rd due to an accident involving a tractor trailer unit carrying gas. No major injuries reported, traffic may be tied up for a few hours pending the response of a hazmat cleanup.

Pittsfield Police at scene of accident on West Street near Dorothy Amos Park. A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to Berkshire Medical Center with what appear to be life threatening injuries.
