C’est bien différemment que je voyais cette annonce, mais je suis extrêmement fier de vous annoncer que j’ai écrit et réalisé mon premier film. Imaginé et réalisé à Los Angeles : Ice Ice Bye Bye est déjà sélectionné dans de nombreux festivals aux États-Unis et à travers le monde, et récemment récompensé pour sa mise en scène. Il commence tout juste son parcours. Ice Ice Bye Bye parle d’identité. De la manière dont un être humain peut être réduit à un profil. De ce moment où une journée ordinaire peut basculer, sans retour. Le moment où tout se fracture. Je n’avais pas envie d’expliquer. Je voulais faire ressentir. Parce que parfois, comprendre ne vient pas de l’explication, mais du fait d’être contraint à rester dans une situation dont on ne peut pas s’échapper. Malheureusement, terriblement d’actualité, Ice Ice Bye Bye est tout aussi universel. Réaliser est une suite logique pour moi, une manière de partager, de raconter autrement. Quelque chose que j’ai en moi depuis longtemps, que j’ai mûrement réfléchi, travaillé. Une continuité à mon parcours. Une voie qui est désormais la mienne. Je dédie ce film à mon père, je suis fier qu’il ait pu le voir avant de me quitter. 🇺🇸 This is not how I imagined making this announcement, but I’m extremely proud to share that I wrote and directed my first film. It is just beginning its journey. Ice Ice Bye Bye is about identity. About the way a human being can be reduced to a profile. About that moment when an ordinary day can suddenly shift, with no way back. The moment when everything fractures. I didn’t want to explain. I wanted to make people feel. Because sometimes, understanding doesn’t come from explanation, but from being forced to remain in a situation you cannot escape. Sadly, deeply relevant to our times, Ice Ice Bye Bye is also universal. Directing is a natural step for me, a way to share, to tell stories differently. Something I’ve carried within me for a long time, something I’ve thought through and worked on. A continuation of my journey. A path that is now mine. I dedicate this film to my father. I’m proud he was able to see it before he passed away.
