Die Wunde der Vergangenheit. Warum verüben traumatisierte Jugendliche aus Syrien, die vor Krieg und Gewalt geflohen sind, hier in Deutschland so viele Messerangriffe? Die Antwort ist komplex und vielschichtig, doch sie lässt sich auf einige zentrale Punkte verdichten. Viele dieser Jugendlichen sind in einer Umgebung aufgewachsen, in der Gewalt allgegenwärtig war. Der syrische Bürgerkrieg hat nicht nur das Land, sondern auch seine Menschen tief geprägt. Für viele Kinder und Jugendliche war das Aufwachsen im Kriegsgebiet eine traumatische Erfahrung. Sie erlebten, wie Gewalt zur Norm wurde, wie Konflikte mit tödlicher Härte ausgetragen wurden und wie das Überleben oft von der Bereitschaft abhing, sich selbst zu verteidigen – notfalls mit einem Messer. In der kriegsgeprägten syrischen Gesellschaft hat das Messer eine besondere Symbolik. Es ist ein alltägliches Werkzeug, aber auch eine Waffe, die leicht verfügbar und schnell einsetzbar ist. Diese Allgegenwärtigkeit des Messers setzt sich in den Köpfen vieler junger Menschen fest. Für sie wird das Messer zu einem Mittel, um in einer feindlichen Welt zu bestehen. Doch der Krieg ist nicht das einzige Trauma, das diese Jugendlichen mit sich tragen. Die Flucht nach Deutschland bringt ihre eigenen Herausforderungen mit sich. Der Verlust der Heimat, die Trennung von Familie und Freunden, die Unsicherheit der Zukunft – all dies belastet die Psyche zusätzlich. In der neuen Umgebung fühlen sich viele isoliert, missverstanden und überfordert. Die Integration in die deutsche Gesellschaft gelingt oft nur schleppend, Sprachbarrieren und kulturelle Unterschiede verstärken das Gefühl der Entfremdung. In dieser Gemengelage aus Traumata und Anpassungsschwierigkeiten kann das Messer erneut eine Rolle spielen – diesmal als Ventil für aufgestaute Aggressionen und Frustrationen. Wenn sich Konflikte zuspitzen und verbale Lösungen nicht gefunden werden, greifen manche junge Männer zu dem, was sie kennen und was ihnen vertraut ist: dem Messer. Es wäre jedoch zu einfach, die Schuld allein bei den Jugendlichen zu suchen. Die deutsche Gesellschaft muss sich fragen, wie sie mit traumatisierten Flüchtlingen umgeht und welche Unterstützung sie ihnen bietet. Eine umfassende psychologische Betreuung, gezielte Integrationsprogramme und eine stärkere gesellschaftliche Einbindung könnten dazu beitragen, die Spirale der Gewalt zu durchbrechen. Die Tat in Schleswig-Holstein ist ein Weckruf. Sie erinnert uns daran, dass die Folgen des Krieges nicht mit der Flucht enden, sondern dass sie uns auch hier in Deutschland einholen können. Es ist an der Zeit, die Ursachen dieser Gewalt ernsthaft anzugehen und Lösungen zu finden, die nicht nur die Symptome bekämpfen, sondern auch die tieferliegenden Wunden heilen.
