@PlagueVenter No, the project isn't dead. I stopped working on an update that was supposed to implement custom teams and wild pokemon battles, because Scripting API seems to be abandoned by Mojang and worsens update after update. Too many bugs, too limited. So I decided to wait

Since some of you have asked me both here and on Mcpedl, the Pixelmon BE project isn't abandoned. The delay reason is that in this period I don't have much free time and also because the next update will be very complex. Hoping I can give you new info after Christmas Holiday
