Sessia Ltd has submitted a planning application proposing a change of use from an existing office block to a 25-bedroom hotel with bar and restaurant at 27–31 Donegall Street and 3–5 Commercial Court, Belfast.

Our Clean Team has been hard at work over the Christmas period, focusing on graffiti and litter removal, planting and cleaning public assets. This morning, the parklets and Bankmore Square have been gritted to improve the safety of those passing through.

We are so excited to announce that following an 8-week restoration programme, the Mayoral lamp posts in front of Ulster Hall are now back to their former glory and shining bright indeed. They were officially inaugurated my the Lord Mayor @Tracybelfast1 on Wed 5th Nov.

Many thanks to the @deptinfra for fixing the damaged planter on Bruce St. The BID will add new planting here next week. We have also been working with @belfastcc to replace broken trees across the Linen Quarter to further boost planting in our public spaces. @PlanBelfast

The former Delaney's/Caffe Nero building on Lombard Street has gone on sale. Planning permission was granted to knock down the building and develop a new mixed-use scheme

Great to see progress on the public realm around the Belfast Grand Central Station. The new Grosvenor Rd / Durham St junction layout is in place while new paving on Saltwater Square and Durham St is starting to emerge. The 'new' Durham St itself due to open late November.

SPORTS DIRECT Sports retailer @SportsDirectUK will be moving into the former TK Maxx site in #DonegallArcade #Belfast (they own this property), creating a 30,000sq ft flagship store. USC and Game will also form part of the store. Expected to open before end of 2025. #Retail

As work is progressing well on the historic lamp posts in front of @UlsterHall it's time to reveal some samples of how the restored version will appear. The posts are known as the Mayoral Lamps and would have been installed at the Belfast Lord Mayor's residence until the 1990s.
