NASA’s X-59 is prepping for its second flight ✈️
NASA test pilot Jim “Clue” Less will pilot the X-59 for the second flight. The flight marks the beginning of “envelope expansion,” where the quiet supersonic jet will start flight testing at faster speeds and higher altitudes.
Ultimately, the X-59 will demonstrate that an aircraft can fly faster than the speed of sound while reducing the typical loud sonic boom to a quieter thump.

The only runway at Phuket Airport is closed after a landing incident involving Air India Express flight #IX938 (Boeing 737 MAX 8 with registration VT-BWQ)
The aircraft landed at 04:24 UTC and pictures in social media show the aircraft on the runway with it's front landing gear damaged.
According to NOTAM the runway will remain remain closed until 11:00 UTC.

ท่าอากาศยานภูเก็ต แจงกรณีอากาศยานขัดข้องบนทางวิ่ง ไม่มีผู้ได้รับบาดเจ็บ และเร่งดำเนินการตามมาตรฐานความปลอดภัย วันที่ 11 มีนาคม 2569 ท่าอากาศยานภูเก็ต (ทภก.) ชี้แจงกรณีอากาศยานของสายการบิน Air India Express เที่ยวบิน AXB938 เส้นทางบิน ไฮเดอราบัด (HYD) – ภูเก็ต (HKT) เกิดเหตุขัดข้องบนทางวิ่งภายหลังการลงจอด อากาศยานดังกล่าวเป็นแบบ Boeing 737-800 หมายเลขทะเบียน VT-BWQ เดินทางถึงท่าอากาศยานภูเก็ตก่อนเวลาตามแผน โดยมีกำหนดการลงจอดเวลา 11.40 น. และลงจอดจริงเวลา 11.24 น. บนเครื่องมีลูกเรือจำนวน 7 คน ผู้โดยสารขาเข้า 131 คน และทารก 2 คน จากการตรวจสอบเบื้องต้นพบว่า อากาศยานมีการลงจอดในลักษณะ Hard Landing ส่งผลให้ชุดเกียร์ ล้อหน้าของอากาศยานได้รับความเสียหาย ทำให้อากาศยานไม่สามารถเคลื่อนย้ายออกจากทางวิ่งได้ในทันที อย่างไรก็ตาม ไม่มีรายงานผู้ได้รับบาดเจ็บจากเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าว ท่าอากาศยานภูเก็ตได้ดำเนินการออกประกาศนักบิน (NOTAM) ตั้งแต่เวลา 12.08-18.00 น. เพื่อแจ้งปิดทางวิ่งเป็นการชั่วคราว พร้อมทั้งประสานหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าควบคุมสถานการณ์ และดำเนินการตามขั้นตอนด้านความปลอดภัยของท่าอากาศยานอย่างเคร่งครัด

The evening approach into Tokyo Haneda is a beautiful arrival, navigating along Tokyo Bay. The serene experience abruptly ended for passengers aboard Air France flight AF274, as its pilots commanded full thrust and performed a go-around just ahead of landing.

@delmastrodean @Fredenburg55726 @globeandmail Please explain how a scoring system on capabilities based on our most commonly flown mission profiles would "favor the F-35"...be specific...because otherwise it sounds like you're admitting that our mission set is better suited to the F-35. If so...why are we even talking?

@Fredenburg55726 @globeandmail They haven't actually, they were told they had to pick one and then the competition was rigged to overwhelmingly favor the F35. They are going to have a mixed fleet with the two best fighter aircraft in #NATO, that's an exciting prospect (particularly the Made in 🇨🇦 aspect).

@delmastrodean @rpoirier29 @Fredenburg55726 @globeandmail And 2. No, the gripen possesses zero technology that other fighters don't have. The Raven ES-05 is a good radar, sure...but it's less capable than the F-35's radar by an order of magnitude. And EW is not exclusive to the Gripen. The F-35 also has EW, and doesnt need pods for it.

1. Yes, i can absolutely assure you that F-15's and F-16's have kills against the gripen at flags. The article you're using to form your belief that they dont is written by Stefan Englund...hes since admitted he was never at red flag and was writing a puff piece.
