For those saying Waddle is a better receiver (in contrast to Pittman Jr.), we need to define what is meant by "better"?
The Steelers are running a West-coast offense, which is predicated mainly on efficient short-intermediate route running. Pittman has the edge on that.
If we're talking about pure talent, Waddle has the edge; however, Pittman can be used at "Z", in the slot, or on the outside - the type of versality that better suits a W.C offense.
So, Waddle may be talentwise the better receiver, but for a receiver that can help make McCarthy's offense work, Pittman wins.
