Appalling. The Dawn Raids apology was less than two years ago and here we have a dad being dawn raided in front of his kids. It’s time for an amnesty for overstayers with pathways for residency. tpplus.co.nz/news-politics/…

Talofa lava, I'm doing research looking into Pacific peoples' experiences with Restorative Justice (RJ) conferences in Aotearoa as people who have harmed and/or been harmed. If you want to take part/know someone who might, please email restorativejustice.pacific@gmail.com!

People arguing “It’s too late to avoid climate change - now we have to adapt” don’t see the fatal flaw in their argument: If we give up on slowing climate change it will KEEP GETTING WORSE, until it gets so bad we won’t be able to adapt. It’s not a game of two halves you muppets.

Some people keep saying "NZ shouldn't worry about cutting emissions because we're relatively small." There are 𝟭𝟯𝟬 countries which emit less than NZ and together produce more climate pollution than the US or China. It's a selfish and self-defeating argument. #TooManyCows

When we say "crime is a social construct", what we mean is that you, as an individual, can go to jail for littering, but a corporation can poison the air, the soil, and the water of an entire town, and no one will go to jail.

Climate change is political. Successive govts in Aotearoa & globally have failed to regulate the big climate polluters. Extreme weather worsened by warming is the result of their inaction. Clean up isn't enough, our leaders need to act to mitigate further suffering.
