To put these Jay-Z/Yankee Stadium shows in its proper perspective…
On night 1, he’ll be performing a 30-year-old album that had very little impact in real time, according “real hip-hop fans.”
On night 2, he’s performing a 25-year-old album that was overshadowed by the September 11 terrorist attacks.
For a guy who’s 30 years in. Inactive for almost a decade. No co-headliner. No new music out. No promo, just an announcement. In the midst of battling a nasty smear campaign. Never the biggest, never the hottest, irrelevant, etc.
Back-to-back nights. STADIUM
shows. Both will easily sell out.
“If you can't respect that, your whole perspective is wack”
