very few people fully understand what’s happening here, but we’re witnessing the early formation of a new financial “circle of life”, powered by onchain infrastructure and accelerated by regulatory clarity tbh, the intersection of onchain neobanks and institutional yield would have sounded like a fever dream if you pitched it to me back in 2021, when i was at coinbase ventures fast forward to today - neobanks are quietly dominating onchain capital flows. platforms like @ether_fi have onboarded hundreds of thousands of users and billions in TVL (etherfi alone has surpassed ~$6B+ in total value locked at peak, with a large portion tied to retail flows) but here is the shift most people are finally realizing: defi yields are compressing and they’ve always been siloed to crypto-native users. billions of dollars of demand can’t be met by defi alone given the structural issues onchain but can be met by the capacity of the tradfi world people are now looking for yields that are more stable, more uncorrelated -- something that looks closer to returns from tradfi markets and can be purchased in size also, with increasing regulatory clarity (e.g., the proposed GENIUS Act) that will lead to the continued growth of stablecoin adoption, we’re moving towards a world where onchain capital is actively seeking to move size into institutional products instead of speculative yield. productive yield only becomes accessible via programmable institutional assets the constraint is no longer just demand - it is access. the market is going through a kind of natural selection, churning through teams/products in search of infrastructure that can bridge onchain capital into institutional markets without breaking UX or compliance, and i'm seeing this evolution happen first hand there arent many products that can balance access to institutional yields, regulatory alignment, and a seamless user experience like @NestCredit and @plumenetwork we are among the few that can make this new era possible, building to open institutional assets to the masses
