Because of the effect of racial and community trauma, fear has already saturated the experience of many. The Network wants to do all it can to recognise this harm and support those affected in this moment in any way.

The people being targeted in recent racist events have already experienced significant trauma. The events such as the one planned for later today could worsen this.

Statement in response to the planned far right demonstration in Plymouth tonight. As a Network which is built on safety as the basis for all five values within our Trauma Lens, we recognise that the protection of basic rights to physical and psychological safety is fundamental.

We had another inspiring training day for the Plymouth Safeguarding Children Partnership. What does it mean to feel safer? Putting at ease, feeling secure, consistency, boundaries, ethical frameworks, safeguarding, bring clear, owning and apologising… 😊

Wonderful to talk about all things trauma informed with some of our city’s volunteers in such a warm & friendly setting; Hamoaze House. Feeling inspired by the impetus to ‘give something back’ & build connection within the communities of our Ocean City. ❤️
