A potentially life-altering update, @CHSFieldStPaul is now a Pepsi ballpark after years of a Coca-Cola affiliation.

The whole “Freedom of Speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences” is complete BS. If there are consequences then your speech isn’t free. You might as well just say I don’t believe in free speech. I certainly don’t. If someone says something I don’t like there will be consequences. I might respond harshly, I may not talk to them as much, or invite them to hang out as much. That’s all perfectly natural and appropriate. Speech isn’t free. Which is why the First Amendment protection against the government is so important.
English

@PocketDrek @EmmanuelAcho Freedom of speech is provided to you by the government to protect you from the government. Your place of employment is not the government, they can fire you at any time for what you say if it does not reflect the values of the company. Especially in a public-facing position.
English

No. Freedoms of speech means there are no consequences for your speech. Hence you can speak freely. The first Amendment protects this freedom with regard to the government bringing about such consequences. The reality is that people don’t really believe in free speech, which is why we have a first amendment to at least protect us from our government.

@EricLDaugh If Walz really cared about not chasing rich taxpayers out of thenstate he’d implement a tax program where tax payers would get a tax break by just directly sending their tax money to the Somolians instead of the government middleman.

🚨 BREAKING: Outrage is erupting after ANOTHER Minnesota fraudster gets a short prison sentence — "Zamzam Jama" gets just SIX MONTHS
She was involved in a $5.6M scheme that included her family, and was directly responsible for around $500K
What a FREAKING DISGRACE!
This only ENCOURAGES more fraud if all you get is six months.

@TheRossBrendel Probably because there will be 82% fewer cell phones in the stadium.
English

The #MnTwins announced today at the ‘Taste of the Twins’ they have improved their cellular coverage in the park by 82%.
For a variety of reasons. That’s a big and needed upgrade.
Now… Can we improve the bullpen and lineup by 82%? 😀⚾️
English

@Gibberushhh @TalkinTwins We could have Marge Schott as the owner and I’d have 100% positivity if they were winning.

@StopAntisemites Yet us Jews can’t get enough supporting this BS and all the adjacent groups (like BLM) and and then we wonder why we get it from both sides.

Philadelphia, PA - at today's “No Kings” protest, a journalist captured participants screaming "Death to America, Death to the Zionist Entity (Israel), Long Live the Intifada."
According to their website - “No Kings” upholds a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events.
The No Kings protests are orchestrated by the 50501 Movement; the three funders of the 50501 Movement are:
- Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss' Foundation ($293.6 million)
- George Soros’ Open Society Foundation ($194.2 million)
- Arabella ($47 million)
So much for “grassroots” fighting against Kings.

I have zero issue going downtown to work. I’m there usually 4 days a week. I prefer being in the office to being home and enjoy walking the skyways and being downtown during the workday.
But…….DT is over. Maybe 10% of my workplace comes into the office regularly. Most stores close by 2 or 3pm. It’s just a sterile environment. And after dark you’re on your own unless you go to an event.
English

@Duckduckjeep25 @PatGarofalo Cool story. I have personal knowledge too of many workers who have 0 issue with downtown & 0 irrational concerns about daytime weekday safety. WFH happened bc of COVID, it continues bc of cost savings for employers, NOT false safety concerns.

Puka Nacua and Hallie Aiono welcomed a baby into the world this week ... just a few months after the latter asked a court to confirm the former was the father of her child.

As an alumnus, season ticket holder, and someone who has donated enough money to earn an umbrella I can 100% confirm that the administration does not give two shits about athletics. The administration makes their rounds to alumni and donor events with photographers in tow to make it seem like they care, but they care far more about the social cause of the day.
And that does not bode well for the current NIL environment.
English

@RussoHockey @nytimes As a St.Cloud fan, I think Larson is a better coach than Motzko. It all comes down to U of M admin and NIL though. Admin has to show athletics are important to them. It helps drive student pride and enrollment.

@AlexBerenson So many bitch and moan about blue state policies, but there's a reason they're blue states. It's called voting
English

@DeRushaJ @basedegenerate Not sure it would help forcing them to watch the Twins. Just further proves how bad leadership destroys a good product.
English

@basedegenerate I'd like to take all the haters to a Twins game... show them that while there's always work to be done, it's not productive to constantly take a crap on our state's largest city
English

Well historically when both teams are competitive the Twins drew better local tv ratings. Demographics probably have a lot to do with it. But interst in the Twins wasn’t just about the sun.
But now with Twins new TV platform….nobody is watching them.
And at the current time Twins are easily last. The team managed to take their highest point in 30 years and flush it down the toilet within 2 seasons. One of the great inept organizations.
English

@PocketDrek @marissavoss This is a bad take. Twins are popular due to being able to go outside in the sun to watch the game. That doesn’t make the team more popular than the Wolves or Wild.
English

There’s absolutely no way in the STATE OF HOCKEY that the Twins are more liked than the Wild.
Brandon Walker@BFW
I need examples of a US city with at least three pro sports teams where the NHL team is top two in fandom in the city. Boys here said Detroit, DC and Tampa. I think I’ll give them DC and Tampa, but contest Detroit. Some guys said Minnesota, I think Twins are bigger than Wild.
