Poetry and Paintings of Jiujiang
In the past, the Wave Well served primarily as a water source for local residents. From dawn till dusk, residents of the West Garden came in an endless stream to draw water, wash clothes, and rinse vegetables. This scene is vividly recreated in the Old Customs of Jiujiang series by Chen Shangqiu, a renowned folk-custom painter of Jiujiang. Years at the Wave Well, painted by Chen Lingrong in 1998, is part of his "Memories of Jiujiang" series and a reflection of the Wave Well as it lives in his heart. In this work, the passage of time is rendered eternal, warm colors evoke nostalgia, and an open composition sets the imagination soaring — all of which embody the collective memory of the people of Jiujiang.

Poetry and Paintings of Jiujiang
Located in the West Garden of Jiujiang, the Wave Well (Langjing) is a well with a diameter of only 0.59 meters, whose waters produce a sound of surging waves all year round. According to legend, the well was excavated under the direction of Guan Ying, a great general of the Western Han Dynasty, and is therefore also known as "Guan Ying Well." Whenever the river surges, people can hear the sound of waves rising from the well. Li Bai composed the verse: "Waves stir Guan Ying's well, winds blow over Xunyang's river." Su Zhe also expressed his wonder: "Why does the spring within the well surge and startle at times?" Endowed with rich historical and cultural significance, the Wave Well has become an important cultural relic and historic site in Jiujiang.

#JiujiangLushan #VisitJiujiangChina Jiujiang is a celebrated cultural city with over 2,200 years of history. In the long river of time, Li Bai, the "Poet Immortal" of the Tang Dynasty, immortalized the majestic Sandie Spring of Mount Lu with his iconic verse: "Its torrent plunges three thousand feet from high, as if the Silver River were falling from the sky." The great poet Bai Juyi further distilled Mount Lu's beauty to its essence: "The wondrous splendor of Kuanglu surpasses all mountains under heaven."
In modern times, the Lushan Cinema became a stage for Chinese film history. Romance on Lushan Mountain set multiple world records, including "most screenings" and "longest single-film runtime," and as the first post-reform Chinese film to portray love, it is cherished by audiences as the "first kiss" in the history of New China's cinema.

Passing through Wuning County, the weather clears and the scenery is harmonious.
The banks curve and the river flows swiftly, the mountains are shallow and the sky is vast.
Dense blue grass splashes everywhere, light smoke trails like a ribbon.
Where shall I rest at nightfall? A flute rises with the fishermen's song.
