@ThetaForgeX Yep! Doesn’t matter how well you can read a green if it’s not rolling down your line right off the face. I find that it’s mainly about ball position, figure out what’s right to get a good roll and cement that into your brain!

@PogueIan I love this. I know exactly what you mean. When I play with people who are good. Their ball just rolls different. And occasionally I’ll putt one and it’ll feel different and roll better. This is gonna help big time

I started golfing 1.5-2 years ago. I was BAD. My goal is to win the club championship at my golf course some year. I am going to post my scores here for you guys to follow along the journey. @PogueIan Great advice. I’ll try the chalk thing. I really don’t have a good practice routine for putting tbh. Do you mean use chalk line and make a straight line with a chalk line and roll the ball on the line?

@ThetaForgeX Exactly! Find a straight putt, preferably uphill. Buy a chalk line from somewhere like Lowe’s or Home Depot or Amazon, you snap it on the green and then you have a clear line to see how you are rolling the ball. It’s less about how many you make, more about rolling it on line.

@ThetaForgeX It also makes the ball not very spinny so it rolls like a putt. Get good with a 56 out of bunkers, the bounce will save you. Keep your head still, always, always, always. Only sing thought I ever have in the course. Best of luck to ya!

@ThetaForgeX 3.8 handicap here. Find a putting drill that you can work on (I like a chalk line and work in increments from 1-10 feet working on rolling the ball on my line). Don’t use your 60 unless you have to, hit bump and runs with a 7-9 iron that you toe so you never chunk it (toe it).
