Woke up to hundreds of messages and wishes from this family on X. Every single message means a lot. Thank you for being a part of this journey. I had an opportunity to reflect on life, wanted to share my journey. A few years ago, I was at one of the lowest points in my life. I had no clue where life was heading. I felt backstabbed, lost and completely devastated. Looking back, the only reason I came out of that phase was because I never lost hope and I had support. I kept believing that if I stayed positive, worked hard and remained persistent, things would eventually get better. They did. One thing I have realised over the years is that life becomes much simpler when you stop competing with others. The only person worth competing with is yourself. My late 20s were all about rebuilding myself. Building self-confidence, creating an identity, learning about money, creating passive income and trying to come out of a debt cycle I never wanted to remain in. Every decision revolved around becoming financially stronger and standing on my own feet. My early 30s taught me an equally important lesson. While I was busy rebuilding my career and finances, I completely ignored my health. I touched 98 kg. I had migraines, GERD, constant fatigue and felt tired almost every day. I was chasing success, but somewhere along the way I forgot to take care of myself. At 34, I decided enough was enough. I committed to getting healthier and ended up losing 23 kg. Looking back, that is probably one of the best decisions I have ever made. I feel fitter, more energetic and mentally much happier. Good health changes everything. Now, as I enter my late 30s, I can feel my priorities changing once again. Career will always be important. Financial independence will always matter. But I also want more time with my mom, my brother, my wife and my son. I want to become better at what I do, continue sharing whatever I learn, and at the same time bring a little more peace into my life. Maybe that’s what growing older is. Not wanting more. Wanting what truly matters. Thank you once again for every wish, every conversation and every bit of encouragement over the years. This platform has given me much more than followers. It has given me a community that has celebrated my highs, supported me through my lows and grown along with me. Here’s to becoming a better version of ourselves every single year.

Cheers to another year! 🥂 As much as I love traveling, there’s no better place to celebrate a birthday than at home with your kids, parents, spouse, and family. I ended up rescheduling quite a few plans just to be home, and it was worth every bit of it. The highlight of the day was the incredible effort my wife put in, along with her baker friend, to create a cake that perfectly reflected one of my biggest passions, cards, points, and miles. She knows me far too well. For someone who spends so much time chasing flights, miles, and the next redemption, today was a reminder that the best redemption in life is time with the people you love. Grateful for another year. Here’s to making more memories, both at home and around the world.

🚨 Applied for SBI AMC IPO I believe in capital market stocks and India having a really long runway. Just applied under retail quota. But my family members have applied under shareholder and retail. We are invested with HDFC and ICICI AMC since inception and IPO days. HDFC AMC has given 15% CAGR returns from listing (not IPO price) and 16.8% with dividends. (~17.3% if dividends reinvested) So not a quick rich scheme but nice returns over time. The dividends on these AMCs cover a month of expenses as of now. 😀

ICICI AMC has given 22.6% returns (not annualised). Dividends are additional.

@FinPaal These apps can have glitches. SBI Visa Platinum DC for example has lounge access but it never shows up on these apps. Plus banks have to give mandatory 30 day notice for this.
