Idk why this irks me but I never like Pokemon cards (or other TCGs) being called “wax”. Wax is a sports collector term for sealed product cause sports cards used to be sealed with wax, dating back to the 1950s and until the early 90s. To me, just screams “I don’t like TCGs but I know there’s money in them.”

Was able to get more shelves so I could display the rest of my games. Will eventually get some backlighting but something about these all displayed brings me back to walking in a video game aisle in the 90’s.

@nfa6690 @AwesumJames I’ve seen people call other people scalpers simply for looking at their phone in a trading card aisle - even when they were just checking to see if any of the cards they needed were from sets of the available packs on the shelf.

@AwesumJames No no anybody that gets product I miss out on is automatically a scalper and possibly a racist.

I think we need to distinguish the three... Scalper - Someone buying out retail to immediately flip at insane prices. Sealed Collector - Someone buying a box to display on a shelf for the aesthetic. Usually buys 1-2 boxes. Investor - Someone buying sealed cases/product they shove into a garage/closet/warehouse with the intent to sell for profit in the future. While someone can be a combination of the three, those of you calling any and everyone who buys a product a scalper are only making yourself look stupid.

@trentstupalski1 @switchstock I’m sure some did, but I shared the same experience as many others. “Can’t verify address” “High Demand Item” over and over again. I tried the site, the app, signed out and back in, removed and re-added to cart. You name it, I tried it. Eventually got the big 🖕🏻 “sold out”.
