Today we honor Native American culture and history by reflecting on the devastating years of Indian boarding schools, where hundreds of Native American children were taken against their will, forced to learn a foreign language, & banned from practicing their traditional beliefs.

Our Government offices will reopen on Wednesday, July 5, at 8 a.m.

It's the countdown to the Pow Wow! Gates open at 10 a.m. Grand Entry is at noon and 6 p.m. Saturday, and noon on Sunday. Come to Rodgers Lake Campground in Dowagiac for this fun, family-friendly event. The Pow Wow is open to the public.

We pray for Citizen Potawatomi Nation and those in the surrounding communities who have experienced devastating losses from the severe storms and tornadoes earlier this week.

Today we celebrate Native American Heritage Day. It is an opportunity to celebrate and learn about the traditions, culture, and background of Native Americans.

Our offices will be closed today and tomorrow in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. We will open up at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 28.

Due to the declining weather, the Pokagon Government offices will close at 2 p.m. today. Food Box distribution will resume Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., weather permitting.
