A very through review of the Coinpoker updates. Did not enjoy typing this up as I was such a big fan of their previous software. Hopefully things improve over time but tbh some of the more important changes are technically complicated to update and unlikely to change

@MaeTcg Yeah, I feel it's pretty likely that on 9/23 some corporate exec who sees magic as nothing more than a money fountain learned that their most profitable revenue stream could be toggled by a 3rd party and got PISSEDDDD.

Idk the billion dollar company letting people who didn't work for them make the rules for their cash cow format never really seemed like a great idea to me from a corporate perspective.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Rosetta draft might just be great. My biggest issues with draft are that it's hard to stay open and too risky to pivot; the fact that almost every card in Rosetta is playable by 2 heroes does a lot to fix these issues. A huge step forward.

Went to my local pre release this weekend. Built florian because the gameplan seemed the most straightforward. I was worried about no AB in an arcane set, but the devs did a great job of adding relevant counterplay! I also opened florians head and oscilio's butt

@JadeyArchangel @bobinchese Not sure why this is stumping you. He took a current tier1 decklist and removed all the Modern Horizons and LOTR cards from it. That's it. It's really not that complicated.

This bnr takes guts and I really respect LSS for just going for it. I didn't want to say it, but I've felt disenchanted with fab since Amsterdam. Swingy games decided by 15-20 life isn't what I fell in love with. This article spoke to me and has renewed my excitement for fab

@n3ardeath @fabtcg I would say codex is very good, but it tends to lead to more like, 2 card 11s rather than 6 card 30s, so it's more in line with LSS's philosophy

Really like these decisions, and the article indicating a clear philosophy for what they want the format/game to look like is amazing. FaB's communication w/ its community is 2nd to none. Keeping the highroll potential legal in LL format is also cool; that's where it belongs!

@ErikaForslof If you do watch death note, I can't recommend enough reading the last few chapters of the manga rather than watching the last episode of the anime... it's infinitely better.
