@MMalksoo @Peacebuilding_ For Addams, peace was not about surrender or victor’s peace or passivity; Peace had to be actively cultivated: forging new relationships, providing food and basic necessities, rebuilding identities, soothing anxieties... even when it seemed unimaginable.

@MMalksoo @Peacebuilding_ Thank you, Maria! About the concrete case of Ukraine, you clearly know more about what is possible and imaginable. Not sure. Addams critiqued arguments like ‘this is a war to end all wars’ or war as necessity, war as justice, war as natural… arguments that are ubiquitous today.
