Polegate Residents' Association

This morning we came together to pay our respects this remembrance day along with other community groups at the towns war memorial. Trevor Rees had the honour to lay a poppy wreath on behalf of our Polegate Residents Association.

Today we hosted a trip to Haskins Garden Centre Snowhill. Our members and guests had a delightful time and enjoyed the scenic routes too!

On Saturday the @PolegateCF hosted its Summer Fun Day at Brightling Road Recreation Ground. I was pleased to welcome James MacCleary MP to the town for his first official engagement in Polegate.

I was pleased to present the winners of the Sussex Downs Scarecrow Festival with their certificates on behalf of the @PolegateCF. My sincere gratitude goes those involved in hosting the festival & everyone who has taken part in the last 7 years in this wonderful community event

This afternoon I was pleased to attend @BernhardBaronCH for their Summer Fair along with my Deputy Cllr Stephen Shing representing @PolegateTC. We enjoyed talking with their team and residents and was delighted to hear over 200 local residents also came to enjoy the entertainment

Earlier today Children With Cancer Fund held a rededication at their memorial in the town #Polegate . As the towns mayor I was very proud to attend and unveil the new plaque remembering the children supported by the charity.

I was delighted to support @CWCFPolegate & attend their annual ‘Run to Run’ fundraising event. It was lovely to see over 100 people take part in the event along the Cuckoo Trail. I was pleased to be able to start each event along with presenting each participant with their medals

I am delighted and thankful for my fellow councillors unanimously voting for myself to serve a second term as the Towns Mayor. It is a complete honour and privilege to represent my colleagues, the Town Council and the residents of Polegate.

Recently I donated gardening vouchers for two Polegate groups to mark the Royal Horticulture Society’s national gardening week. I made donations to Polegate Beavers to help them enhance their garden within the community centre along with the gardening club at Polegate School.

Yesterday I was pleased to revisit Polegate School after leaving as a student 20 years ago. The school has some great facilities for learning but also for enrichment and wellbeing. Thank you to the Headteacher Debbie Jones for your time and the tour.

This afternoon I was delighted to host a special welcoming reception for a group of visitors from Saintry-Sur-Seine our twined French town to Polegate.

This morning I joined the @PolegateCF alongside Wealden Police and Eastbourne Area Community First Responders to see new emergency lifesaving equipment being installed in the town. The bleed kits have been installed after generous donations from local residents and businesses.

I was extremely pleased to have been able to visit Dr Brown from Manor Park Medical Centre to personally thank him for his care and dedication he has provided to the Polegate community over the last 25 years ahead of retiring.

This morning we gathered to mark the completion of the new Changing Places facility in the town. The Changing Places amenity has recently been installed at Polegate War Memorial Recreation Ground.

Today I had a very unique opportunity to represent the @PolegateCF and join a team of volunteers with @sussex_society to re-paint the Long Man of Wilmington.

Our member Malcolm Cunningham has been awarded an Honorary Freeman Award by Polegate Town Council. The award was made in honour of his lengthy and dedicated service over the last 20 years as a town councillor. We’re extremely proud Malcolm has represented us for the last 20 years

On Monday I had the privilege to present Cllr Malcolm Cunningham with his Honorary Freeman award on behalf of Polegate Town Council. The award was made in honour of his lengthy and dedicated service to the town of Polegate over the last twenty years as a town councillor.

Yesterday I visited the Friends of Polegate Jubilee Nature Reserve with a donation of 1,000 snowdrops bulbs in the green, ready to enhance the woodland landscape next spring. I’m extremely grateful to all the volunteers who came to help with planting.

Last year the installation of cables for Lighting Fibre caused damage to a number of verges & our display of daffodils in Polegate. After meeting with them to raise our concerns they agreed to replant in the autumn. I meet with them to see some of the 5,000 bulbs in bloom.
