Man Shot in Groin After Reports of Soliciting Minors in South Fort Worth Apartment Complex On Friday, April 3, 2026, at approximately 11:43 a.m., Fort Worth, TX, police responded to the 3700 block of Century Place at the Carlyle Crossing apartments in south Fort Worth after receiving reports of a man possibly under the influence soliciting minors for sexual favors. Officers heard a single gunshot upon arrival. They located a man who had been shot in the groin near the area; he was transported to a hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive. Police have not released the name of the wounded man. The shooting involved a group of three people. Markus Renfro (also referred to as Marckus Renfro), 33, of Fort Worth, was identified as the shooter and arrested at the scene. He faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading detention. He is also being held on outstanding warrants and remains in Tarrant County Jail with no bond set. According to Renfro’s family, including his wife Jamie Ramirez Renfro, the wounded man had allegedly approached Renfro’s underage nieces earlier that morning, soliciting them for sex and offering them drugs including meth. Family members said words were exchanged, the man rushed at Renfro, and Renfro fired one shot. They described the act as protection of the children and stated the man had prior incidents of this nature in the neighborhood. Fort Worth police confirmed they had received a prior report that same morning about a man under the influence behaving suspiciously toward minors in the same area. Investigators are continuing to determine the exact sequence of events. No other arrests from the group have been reported. #police #cops #crime #policia #polizei #polis #polisi #shot #shooting

FAIL: Boston deploys mental health clinician to deal with sword-wielding violent Person—worker injured, suspect shot dead by cops On April 4, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts, Boston police responded to 212 Hemenway Street near Northeastern University just before 11 a.m. after a 911 call reporting four armed individuals trying to harm the caller. Officers located the man inside an apartment and spoke with him through the door. They determined he was experiencing a mental health crisis and requested a Boston EMS mental health clinician from the Boston Emergency Services Team (BEST) under the department’s Co-Response Model. Boston Police Department policy (Special Order 25-39, November 5, 2025) states officers shall be trained in behavioral health response and, if feasible, call for and await assistance from a BEST Co-Response clinician when an individual appears to be in crisis to reduce the possibility of injuries, assist with de-escalation, and connect the person to services rather than arrest when appropriate. The program, active since 2011, pairs master’s-level clinicians with officers for mental health calls. After 35 to 45 minutes of negotiation, responders asked the man to exit for help. He opened the door armed with a sword, stabbed a police officer in the arm causing a severe laceration, and knocked the clinician to the ground. Officers deployed a taser and fired their weapons, striking the suspect. He received on-scene aid and was taken to a hospital, where he died. The stabbed officer, the clinician, and several other officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were hospitalized. #police #cops #crime #policia #polizei #policia #polis #polisi #Boston #BostonPD

The Dasaun Williams Case – Drug Trafficking Arrest and Bodycam Controversy On November 5, 2025, in Middleburg, Florida (Clay County, near Jacksonville), 23-year-old Dasaun Williams was arrested by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) during “Operation Red Light,” a months-long undercover drug and gang investigation targeting the “Out East 1200” gang. The operation involved multiple controlled buys. Williams allegedly sold methamphetamine and fentanyl to confidential informants on several occasions between July and October 2025. On the day of arrest, officers conducted a buy/bust at a gas station. Bodycam footage shows Williams slowly walking away from a vehicle near the gas pumps as an officer commands him to get down and deploys a stun gun. He is then taken to the ground. JSO seized significant contraband in the broader operation: 152 grams of fentanyl (over 76,000 potentially lethal doses), 226 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, 22 firearms, and cash. Williams faces 27 felony counts, including multiple charges of sale/delivery of fentanyl (some while armed), trafficking in fentanyl (over 4 grams), trafficking in methamphetamine (over 14 grams), and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. Four men were arrested in total. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, along with other lawyers and Williams’ family (including his mother), held a press conference in early April 2026. They demanded a full investigation, citing the video as evidence of excessive force and alleging a pattern by JSO. #police #cops #crime #policia #polizei #polis #polisi #polizia #polisia #DasaunWilliams @jaxsheriff

Sacramento Police Shoot Armed Suspect Who Called in His Own Weapon Disturbance Sacramento, California — On March 10, 2026, just before 6:45 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department Communications Center received a call reporting a disturbance involving a weapon in the 3100 block of Northstead Drive. The caller stated that an adult male on a school campus was armed with a knife and was chasing anyone who approached him, including another adult male. The caller provided descriptions of both males and the knife the suspect was carrying. While officers were en route to the school, a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office helicopter arrived overhead. The air unit broadcast over the radio that they had located an individual matching the suspect’s description in front of the school. The helicopter crew reported giving the suspect multiple commands to drop the knife. Responding officers arrived on scene and made contact with the armed suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Jamal Dearmond. Officers gave Dearmond multiple commands to drop the knife and attempted to de-escalate the situation. Dearmond refused to comply, continued to advance toward the officers, and an officer-involved shooting occurred. During the incident, a less-lethal Conducted Energy Device (CED) was also deployed. Officers then detained Dearmond and immediately rendered medical aid. It was later determined that the suspect in the officer-involved shooting was the sole caller to the Communications Center regarding the disturbance. Dearmond was transported to an area hospital by the Sacramento Fire Department. On March 13, 2026, after being medically cleared, he was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon. The knife was recovered at the scene. #police #cops #crime #policia #polizei #polizia #polisia #polis #polisi #LawEnforcement

Woman Armed with Pellet Gun Shot by LAPD During Robbery Call Los Angeles, CA - On March 7, 2026, around 11:15 p.m., officers assigned to Southeast Patrol Division responded to a radio call of a Robbery in Progress at a convenience store located at 15300 South Figueroa Street. Upon arrival, the officers observed the suspect, later identified as 53-year-old Cynthia Anne Ivie Akers, standing behind the convenience store’s front counter. The officers issued multiple verbal commands to gain Akers’ compliance; however, those commands were disregarded. Akers then suddenly moved toward the counter, removed a handgun from a zippered bag, and pointed it in the direction of the officers, resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS). Akers was struck by gunfire and subsequently taken into custody. The officers immediately rendered medical aid and requested the response of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). Louisville Police Shoot Woman Who Emerged from Bathroom with Broken Toilet Porcelain Louisville, Kentucky — On March 27, 2026, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers responded to 7800 Vieux Carre Drive following a 911 call. The caller reported that her 28-year-old cousin, Katelyn Hall, was extremely agitated, armed with glass, had slit both wrists, locked herself in a bathroom, and had ingested cleaning products. Due to the nature of the call, it was deemed unsafe for a deflection response. Officer Robert Baker was the first to arrive. He met the caller outside and entered the apartment wearing medical gloves. Inside, another woman informed him that Hall had cut both wrists, was armed with glass, and was bleeding heavily. Officer Baker went to the bedroom and attempted to de-escalate the situation by speaking with Hall through the bathroom door for about four minutes. As additional officers arrived, they developed a plan: one officer would provide less-lethal cover with a taser, one would provide lethal cover, and another would go hands-on if necessary. A firefighter used a tool to break the bathroom door lock, but Hall was sitting against the door, preventing it from opening. She then broke more glass inside the bathroom. As Hall’s voice grew calmer and quieter—suggesting significant blood loss or loss of consciousness—firefighters broke the door hinges. Officer Gabbard arrived on scene just as the hinges were being removed. With four officers now present, they stood 3–5 feet from the door.Once the hinges were broken, Hall suddenly opened the door and rapidly advanced toward the officers, holding an 8–12 inch piece of broken porcelain with a sharp, pointed edge (believed to be from the toilet tank). Despite commands to stop, she continued advancing with the object raised at shoulder level. Officers Baker and Gabbard fired their weapons, striking Hall. The taser was not deployed. Officers and firefighters immediately began rendering aid, applying chest seals and performing CPR. Hall was transported to University of Louisville Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. #police #cops #crime #policia #polizei #polis #OIS

A New York City jury has reached a verdict in the 2024 fatal shooting of NYPD Det. Jonathan Diller, finding defendant Guy Rivera not guilty of murder but guilty on multiple lesser charges. The verdict was delivered Wednesday in Queens following a three-week trial and approximately eight hours of jury deliberations. Rivera was convicted of aggravated manslaughter in the first degree, attempted murder in the first degree, and criminal possession of a weapon. The case stems from a March 25, 2024, traffic stop in Far Rockaway, where Diller, 31, and other officers approached a suspiciously parked vehicle. Rivera, seated in the passenger seat, fired a handgun during the encounter, striking Diller below his bulletproof vest. The officer was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. Prosecutors argued Rivera intentionally shot Diller after preparing and loading the weapon. They presented body camera footage and testimony from officers at the scene, including Diller’s partner, who returned fire and wounded Rivera. Rivera’s defense maintained the shooting was accidental, claiming the gun discharged during a struggle with officers. In addition to killing Diller, prosecutors said Rivera attempted to shoot another officer during the encounter, which led to the attempted murder conviction. Diller, a three-year NYPD veteran, was married and had a young child. His death marked the first line-of-duty killing of an NYPD officer in two years. Rivera now faces a potential life sentence. Sentencing is scheduled for later in April. #police #cops #crime #policia #polizei #polis #poisi #polisia #polizia #LawEnforcement #court #JonathanDiller

San Leandro, California Police Chief Avoids Hit-and-Run Charges Due to CHP Selective Enforcement In San Leandro, California, San Leandro Police Chief Angela Averiett was involved in a hit-and-run last May on eastbound Interstate 580 approaching Dublin. Daffani Ryan was driving home with her husband and two children after a San Francisco Giants game, in the fast lane through a construction zone with traffic at 45-50 mph. A silver Jeep—unmarked San Leandro Police Department vehicle assigned to Averiett—drove on the shoulder, veered into Ryan’s lane, and clipped her driver’s-side mirror. Ryan described the impact as sounding “like a shotgun,” waking her children. The Jeep had flashing police lights in the rear window before the crash; afterward, the driver turned off all lights, crossed four lanes, and exited without stopping. Ryan’s husband noted the license plate, which traced to the department. Ryan told 911 she was “hit by a police officer.”Averiett told CHP she was stuck in traffic, experienced chest pain, and drove on the shoulder to get home faster. She claimed no knowledge of the collision, did not hear any impact noise, and said chest pain subsided after exiting. Mirror damage on both vehicles matched exactly. CHP investigators declined to file hit-and-run charges, citing Averiett’s statement that she “had no knowledge of the reported hit-and-run.”Averiett should have been charged. California Vehicle Code requires drivers involved in an accident causing property damage to stop and exchange information. Mirror damage aligned perfectly and the impact produced a loud bang Ryan said was impossible to miss at those speeds. Averiett’s actions—turning off all lights and rapidly exiting—indicate awareness and intent to leave the scene. As police chief, she holds a higher duty to uphold the law she enforces. Relying solely on her self-reported lack of knowledge, despite physical evidence and witness accounts, suggests selective enforcement rather than impartial application of the statute. No other driver claiming no knowledge after verifiable contact would escape charges. #police #cops #crime #policia #polizei #polis #polisi #polisia #selectiveEnforcement @CHP_HQ @SanLeandroPD
